Great Fit Bit Challenge of 2017 - Win Awesome Chips and Get Fit! (2 Viewers)

Oh no, not sandbagging. I've been slacking. I forgot to put my fitbit on yesterday until about 3pm, and ended up having to hop on the treadmill at 11pm to get the job done!
No, I've been really busy the last couple of weeks. I'll post totals soon. Must walk the dog now though...pad today's number :)

I'm joking - no rush! Just trying to add some banter for the last little bit. I've also been meaning to post some pics of my journeys since the challenge started....I'll add those at the end.

Anyway, took a break from the PCF Pokerstars tourney tonight to go jogging to get 1500 more steps I needed to make the goal. Left with 5 players remaining and a 2-1 chip lead over the 2nd place player then came back 10 minutes later and @bjm2020 had a 2-1 lead with 4 left.....much sadness.....I lost. I did get 10,544 steps though :cautious:

Rough week!

CRAP!! I forgot to wear my fitbit today. I put it on the charger this morning, and it's still there!

I have to work tomorrow, so hitting 20k to erase my penalty is going to be a challenge. But I'll give it a go!

Ha..I have a penalty from yesterday and I am not going to be able to erase it. 2nd Penalty. You guys are a disaster away from winning my chippies

Yes! Penalty erased. It took a 6 mile run at lunch-time (which nearly killed me), and a LOT of walking around the house this evening...then a walk to the grocery store. But I hit 20k, while sitting on my ass working most of the day. That was tough.

My phone ran out of juice about 1/2 way into my run. Which made the second half *so* much harder, without music to listen to!

Dedication to the challenge....

Ok @leo822 and @liftapint, I DEFINITELY need a new challenge. I have been sitting on my ass all week!

Thank you guys for throwing this together, this was a really really fun wager overall. Many of my friends and family thought it was silly, but they loved checking up on it too! I wanted to post some pics of some of the bigger days to highlight why we should do another challenge!

5/6 - 24,477 steps - Wife thinks that its ridiculous that I wore my fitbit at my wedding. Lots of dancing = lots of steps.

5/10 - 30,912 steps - Redwoods are awesome.

5/13 - 13,197 steps - Stopped at Point Lobos to grab this picture. Not a huge step day because most of the day was spent driving the Mustang down the PCH and to LA.

5/16: 15,784 steps - Did a lot of exploring on the coast of San Diego. I thought of @detroitdad when we went to Sunset Cliffs. See post #77 for the route for 5/17.

6/9 & 6/10 - 20,225 & 30,080 steps - Visited my bro in Spokane but traveled to Leavenworth for the weekend. First picture is from a short hike to an overlook of the town. Second pick is of Colchuck lake, an alpine lake in Wenatchee national forest.

Wow this sounds like it was a lot of fun. I got my Fitbit Blaze in July and I'm loving it!

I would happily join in on another challenge but don't have any cool/rare chips to put up.

I could do it for cash or playing cards or something like that.

I am up for it as well. I know Mel is back in once the fire situation is hopefully resolved sooner than later.

I think it'd be interesting to do in the fall/early winter because it'll be much more of a challenge to get your steps in when the weather isn't as nice outside.

Maybe we could get CPC or GOCC to donate some chips. Now that'd would get people into another challenge.

I've been having hip and ankle problems. I already downgraded to a HM for this year.

This might be my last time doing a long road race. I am considering switching to trail runs for 2018. Also considering a Spartan Sprint.

Trail runs are more fun, heck of a work out. Its been awhile for me

I'm tentatively in, based on what the entry fee would be this time around. (I have nothing worth $150, so I'd either need to do some investing or find an alternative.)

I just need a Fitbit that delivers an electric shock when I go back for "just one more" slice of pizza.

That Ionic is sweet. GPS, constant HRM, color screen (and thinner than the Surge, the only other model with GPS) plus onboard storage for music (no need to take your phone on a run). And its waterproof! But the price is $300.

I can get a nice Garmin/Tomtom/Suunto or other runners/triathalon watch for that price.
