Gemaco Superflex 50% off (6 Viewers)

Already received them? Man, I feel like it takes them almost a month to even get stuff sent off to me many times.

You want Superflex, GemPro is much lower quality than Superflex imo.
I agree. The one's on the right are not the same card as the superflex. I remember them being very thin and flimsy. Better than bicycles but nowhere near the quality of the superflex.

I feel if you go back in time on this forum and even back to the BlueWall you will find that the SuperFlex cards ranked pretty high on a lot of peoples list of favorite cards, mine included. But once they left the retail market, it became out of sight, out of mind, nobody lists them hardly anymore on their top lists because you don't see them around or in play anymore.

The cards are still as nice as they ever were, definitely a blast from the past, and this is old stock, at less than $20/setup shipped. It was a no brainer even being Kardwell. I've already placed another order and may do another still until the code or the stock runs out. :cool

@WedgeRock I can bring these over to @jayfiggys on Thursday.

Neither are superflex but you can see how they feel in comparison.

I've got a few decks of Gemaco, I wasn't impressed. But I loved the Superflex you brought to his house last week.
The bridge sized packs are very sturdy and close to the feel of Superflexs. The poker sized one's have that flimsier feel.

Yes the new management at Kardwell seems to have made a big improvement. Normally their shipping is still a little high but I get the feeling I no longer have to worry about bad customer service, long wait times including ghosting customers &/or nasty bait & switch tactics that was standard from the former regime.

My order was placed Monday (March 10). Shipping was $11 for 3 decks. My app says it's still 2 days out, although that is probably a USPS issue, not a Kardwell issue.

My last order took 5 days, order to delivery, but i do live in the middle of bumf__k mid-south America, USPS is kinda of a crap shoot right now.

In the old days it would have taken a couple of months to ship (if you were lucky) a substitute, much cheaper product than what you ordered with no explanation and would never answer any inquiries to customer service.

I think the first order I ever placed was 2 barrels of the Welcome Las Vegas 9g RT chips. I think I got them for a color match. Either way shipping took so long I forgot I even ordered them. LOL. And the colors did not match.

But that was then...

I'll second this. I placed a couple of different orders from Kardwell a few months ago, since they are basically the only ones who still have Gemaco in stock and I was dying to try them out. And both times I received my items fairly promptly and had decent communication with their customer service folks. I will say that I wasn't as enamored with any of the Gemaco Superflex or Gemaco Pro cards as everybody else seems to be, but that has nothing to do with Kardwell. So yeah the new owners / managers seem to be fairly reputable folks.

So these Superflex setups (or individual tuck boxes for the poker-size ones) would have the same feel and handling as the Hollywood Casino decks TCR that TCR sold previously, since those were Superflex as well:

that was the best deal ever
the only problem was the cards can broke the corner very easy

I believe those Hollywood cards were Bridge/Standard size full bleed backs... then I would assume (you know what they say) they would have the same feel however it's hard to tell if they were produced from the same card stock/finish as these old stock Superflexs that Kardwell is selling now (apple to oranges).

Companies sometimes change their card stock/finish from production run to production run.

Thanks, I know there's no guarantees, but since the only Gemaco cards I have are the Hollywood Casino Superflex decks, I'll decide if I want to get some of these Superflex decks/setups based on how I like those.

I'm hoping that these Gem Pro in bridge size are still pretty close to Superflex if slightly worse, since I prefer the back design on these over the Superflex design on Kardwell:

Might get a setup or two and risk being disappointed. Plus these come in "Super" index (which is what I'm assuming is Gemaco-ese for jumbo index) instead of regular... Anyone have pics of the "Super" index faces?

I rec'd a couple setups of the bridge size Gemaco Superflex and had a chance to try them out.

They are really nice cards and remind me of Fournier's nice crisp shuffle. Just a little on the stiff side but I prefer a crisp shuffle over a kind of limp Kem style shuffle. The printed faces of these cards are really vibrant (ie more contrast than other cards). Texture seems just right. The artwork seemed a little odd like they scaled the Poker artwork/font the X direction for the Bridge size. (not a big deal though)

It remains to be seen if problems will arise but so far these are "top shelf" cards. (Gemaco is kind of a "sleeper" card brand). Do they focus on Casinos vs retail?

Thanks for posting the deal. Half price was a good deal. Kardwell shipped very quickly.

There are more details about this in an older PCF thread but from what I have been able to gather, Gemaco pulled out of the retail market after they were purchased by the Angel Group based out of Japan. They do have a current website at https://www.gemacocard.com/ but you'll notice it definitely gives the impression that they are now solely focused on marketing towards the casino industry. Additionally, their website shows that they are currently based out of Sheridan, Wyoming whereas historically Gemaco was based out of Blue Springs, Missouri. So it seems rather likely that the Gemaco of today may really be more a licensing of the brand name, and behind the scenes it's likely a fundamentally different company from what it used to be.

It is also worth noting that Kardwell may very well be one of the last retailers on planet Earth that still has some old Gemaco retail cards in stock. And when I was in communication with the Kardwell folks last year they confirmed that they are no longer able to get new Gemaco stock and are simply selling through their remaining inventory. So if anybody still wants to get their hands on Gemaco cards then pull the trigger on an order sooner rather than later, because once Kardwell runs out Gemaco will become functionally extinct for home game purposes.

Got mines! I gotta say they are very close to the same as the Baton Rouge Superflexs, that came outta the Black Friday deal.

The new ones feel thinner when I first shuffled them. I weighed 10 of each and the kardwell pack is a gram lighter.

Shuffling them side by side the old superflexs feel super stiff compared.

These might be in that sweet spot not being too flimsy or too stiff.

@jayfiggy has been running Angels and these feel sturdier than those.

I agree. They are certainly different than Angel PVC or Acetate. They say made in USA.

Looking to snag a couple setups to distribute the shipping costs per deck so it doesn't feel as expensive haha. Does anyone have this set up, any differences between the super flex? It also says standard index but the image looks like jumbo index? Would love some input before ordering. Thinking about 1 set up of these, a set up of super flex and a setup of bicycle prestige brings the total to $52, worth?

Why don't you add these to your order. A 2 deck setup of Dal Negro plastic, bridge for only $3.50 per setup.

I wonder if it's a price mistake. It sounds too good to be true.
