Hey everyone, first post here from a new member in Australia. Came across PCF recently so thought I'd sign up and give it a go. Been a fan of poker for a while and finally in a spot to upgrade my game and get some better chips.

Been looking around but only found limited sites online for Aus consumers. Ordered some samples from Jacks Poker to get a feel of some chips that I'm interested in. Was wondering what everyone thinks as a good first or medium level set as that's what I'm on the look for. Any help from some fellow Aussies also appreciated as from what I've found its a limit market here and shipping from overseas like USA can be a killer.

Looking forward to chatting to everyone and getting more involved in the community here.

Cheers

Hello and welcome!

I have also bought samples from Jack poker and they are not bad.I have also gotten their viper case which in my humble opinion is great! I have both the 500 pc and 1000 pc case.

As for chips really get sample and see what you like. Most of the more experience guys here will tell you the same.

Edit: Happy chipping!... haha not sure why my message got cut off.....

Welcome! I wouldn't fear your limitations too much as there are many members here who can assist with locating chips you're after and shipping speed bumps! Are you after a cash or tourney set?? Casino used Paulsons are generally in the mid grade affordability range, along with most ceramics

Thanks everyone for the kind welcomes

Probs will eventually look to have both cash and tourney set. Normally only play with one table of mates so can allow for some flexibility

Some pointers, if you go both sets be sure not to repeat the 25s* in both, this provides more security for your game whether you trust your group or not. Also, when you begin the hunt for your tournament set, have a breakdown preplanned so you can go after exactly what you need. I would recommend trying out some samples of ceramics, casino used paulsons and china clays prior to buying. This will help you (and your group if you include them) gets feel for what best suits you

*by repeat I mean use the same chip

Thanks heaps for the advice ill keep it noted. Now time to try and find some sets that interest me haha

Currently I’m looking at the following chips:
- Milanos
- Dunes and Pharaohs from Apache

Also waiting on my samples from Jacks Poker to see if any of them seem alright

Anyone from Aus know how much shipping runs roughly from USA?

Welcome.

Typically about $36usd for a sfrb containing up to 100 chips, $85usd for a mfrb containing up to about 400-500 chips, and roughly $105usd I think (been a while since I checked) for a lfrb which could support up to about 700 chips.

It's expensive

Samples have arrived. In total got 4 Lots of samples:
1. Cleopatra sample
2. Monte Carlo sample
3. Artemis Club sample
4. Port Royal sample
With the samples not all chips were available. For the Port Royal the $25 chip was sold out.

So far I’m liking the Port Royal sample probs the most, it seems to be the one I keep going back to shuffle/fiddle with. Plus the colours I like the most.
Just some initial feedback, still looking out there for options but out of these the Port Royal defs the one I’m favouring.
