Hi everyone,
I’m looking for my first Paulson set and would like to stay under $1.50–$2 per chip (so likely RHCs). I’m not after any specific casino or design, I’m pretty open to whatever fits the budget and denominations.
I live in Italy so EU seller preferred, but I have a reshipper based in Chicago, so US deals aren’t problem.

Interested in either a cash set or a tournament set (maybe both😇).

Cash set (400–600 chips), ideally close to the following breakdown:

• 100–160 × 0.25 cent
• 180–200 × $1
• 80–100 × $5
• 1 barrel of $20 or $25
• Optional: 1 barrel of $100

Bonus (not essential): 100–140 × 10cent: I know it’s thought, but it would be great.

Tournament set (400–500 chips), something like:

• 120 × T25
• 140 × T100
• 100 × T500
• 80 × T1000
• 20 × T5000

Thanks in advance!

You'll be hard-pressed to find both sets in your price range, especially considering your preferences for $0.25 and t500, t1000, and t5000 chips. These chips cost significantly more than $2, especially considering taxes and shipping from the US.
Although, with some patience, it's possible.
While a $-set can still be found by adding a separate rack of solids as fractional units, high-denomination tournament chips will be a real headache. Perhaps you'll find it easier to consider a t5 or even a T1 set.
How many players do you have?

A solids hotstamp tourney set might be possible, Fun Nites or IOC from @TheChipRoom

As far as a tournament set goes, the PCF clay chips should fit in your budget. Technically they are Gemaco and not Paulson, but I'm pretty sure they were manufactured at the Paulson factory...

The downside is that the T5k chips (orange) can look a bit too close to the pink T500 chips, depending on your lighting. My set is T5-T1k to avoid that.

Ah okay, thanks. I don’t include taxes and shipping in the $2 price range.

I’ve noticed, though, that it’s much easier (and cheaper) to find cash game sets than tournament sets. Any idea why?
I don’t know about the US, but here in Italy tournaments are much more common than cash games.
Anyway, we’re usually 7 players, and we typically have 4–5 rebuys per tournament night.

They're expensive because of their high denominations. They're rare and therefore more expensive... In your case, a tournament set of 350-400 chips will be quite sufficient.

I’m trying to do something similar but with THCs. I didn’t see it in your post, but how flexible are you on condition? And are you willing to relabel chips?

I bought these a few days ago. They’re casino-used, but for now I’m fine with them. Now I’m looking for a tournament set, at least T25. I understood a eal casino T set would be way too expensive, so I’m considering picking up some nice random Paulson chips to relabel, or maybe going for a fully custom set with Tina

Just out of curiousity, what did you end up paying? And bought in the US or eu?
