What you are voting on:
- color combinations, inlay design
- other qualitative factors like the history of the casino (if that means something to you)

What you aren't voting on:

- rarity/availability
- condition
- affordability
- how they look in their respective line-ups, how they look in your mixed set. Pick 5 x BOH you'd want to build a set around irrespective of cost/availability

DISCLAIMER: I can't take credit for most of the pictures here: credit to those who nominated the chips in the original thread and to those who posted them originally on PCF. Not all pictures are barrel pictures but, as per the rules of the original nomination thread, the chips are know to exist in quantity > 20

Alright, we are a few hours into the vote, so I’ll share a few thoughts.

First, I think the selection process that got us to the top 10 really worked. Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to vote. There isn’t a bad chip in this group, and picking a top 5 would only be marginally easier than picking a top 3. All great chips here.

I will start with the chips I didn’t vote for but deserve a mention.
  • The Aztar primary. While affordability isn’t a criteria in this competition, it turns out that they are the best value BOH of the bunch thanks to a great spot pattern/but sub par color combo and a red denom that makes that inlay a bit more interesting. Overall a really cool chip.
  • The Mapes. Clearly has a GOAT status, but is this competition showing that the Mapes often celebrated design just stops at the phenomenal old school inlay? It’s a great chip, and it’s not an easy call but there are more interesting chips here.
  • RVCL Secondary: I think it’s the weakest chip of the bunch! Good spot pattern, terrible colors. I like that inlay though.
My top 3 (in no particular order)
  • Antique Rose: that chip has everything. Pure class. And I genuinely think hotstamps are at a natural disadvantage to their inlaid counterparts when comparing designs. After all there is so much you can do to make the stamp look interesting/stand out. The HP $100 deserves a mention for that reason, but the AR just does it better
  • Indio Bingo Palace: perfect inlay. Perfect spot pattern with understated (and unusual?) spot colors. Doesn’t get much better than this.
  • Yosemite Inn: Great inlay design (and I have 0 interest in horses unless we’re talking Italian cars), red denom and an absolutely perfect color combination. Again, in my opinion, it doesn’t get better than this.
HP $100, Gulfports, Elsinore and RVCL are just behind - but it’s a close call.

Antique Rose is in such another league I do not get why there is even a vote. The others Whites all definitely have something… and the rest, well, they are Black chips. :cool

Black Out Hammered? Best of Hundred? Too many abbreviations imo lol. Lake Elsinore's are the clear choice for me but I know I'm in the minority like always

Casino Aztar for a black hundo and Lake Elsinore for white hundo
