Is Faded Spade trying too hard?

I don’t know what criteria the general public uses when buying cards.
Does the general public even buy $25 plastic setups?
I dunno. From what I see here, I’d guess that PCFers criteria would go something like this:

Card size
Pip size
Stock feel (stiff/flexy, texture/smooth)
Back color
Back design
Faces

I'm almost embarrassed to say we're from the same home town!

Of course they're trying to hard, but, if they weren't we'd be on here slamming them for not trying hard enough. Now that you've shamed them I feel I need to go to their website and check in with them, see how they're doing. Maybe pick up a couple more setups to try and comfort them.

My buddy has the 1.0s and I can't stand them. I skipped the 2.0s and bought the 3.0s to see if the hype and "changes" that they made were worth a damn. Now 3.0s with a smaller index as a limited run gimmick?! Come on now?!?!

These have been in casinos already. Resorts World had these since at least last July. I didn't like them as much as their unique faces since everyone else is already doing this design with more flexible stock.

I have a couple 2.0 decks (I used to have 4), and two of them have had cards split apart. Faded Spade has terrible customer service and refused to replace the decks, so I'm gonna stay far away from any of their products for the foreseeable future.
I think there are several, including me, that have experienced this. Problem is, these are my group’s favorite cards.

Is their site overloaded or am I the only one having issues when I click on the link in the email to take a closer look at them?

I didn't try the email link but they're listed on their site already. Loads fine for me

Why doesn’t it list if they are bridge or poker size?!

Because faded spade has always been sizzle over substance.

And you know what? Screw them with “old school.” Those cards are normal looking. They want to convey that just because they’ve been pushing their weirdo looking cards onto streams for a few years, that that’s the new normal? And anything looking like a bicycle must be your granddad’s cribbage cards? Eff off faded spade, you shark jumpers!

Hate to hear about the customer service and splitting.

Like others said, I love the texture and the unique color/faces, these are boring.

I feel this in my soul. I'm intrigued by Faded Spade only because of their unique card fonts and face artwork. I find the back designs tacky and uninspired and their customer service from accounts here sucks. Zero interest in these and I sold all of my V3's that I bought.

I am a big fan of the FS v3 cards. I haven’t had any issues with the cards and they feel great. Players at my last game actually said how much they like the new cards which is rare for them to notice anything lol

That’s nice. Spend thousands and thousands on clay chips but what they notice are those over hyped card board like pieces of shit cards. (I’m ok, feels better now)

I'm loving the feel and playability of the 3.0. I had heard too many negative things previously and had stayed away, figured 3rd time might be a charm. Hate to hear about the customer service. The 3.0 is near the top of the list of my favorites right now.

I have no interest in that new « old school » design.
to buy a classic design there is a ton of alternatives imho…
