Every other year I participate in Extra Life, a fundraising campaign for Children's Miracle Network hospitals. The last time I participated my team raised enough funds to help a three year old boy receive a new kidney at no out-of-pocket cost to the family. This year, I'm directing the funds towards the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorder's at Phoenix Children's Hospital.
I'll spare you the sob stories and awful details of what cancer has done to some of the kids at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Suffice it to say that cancer's a bitch. There's little I can do to prevent cancer from afflicting the young people in my community, but I can at least help them and their families deal with the challenges of fighting it.

As a part of my fundraising efforts this year I've decided to hold a raffle (continue to scroll down to see the prize list). A donation of $25 to my Extra Life fundraising campaign gets you one entry into the raffle. Note that these funds never pass through my hands - they go directly to the 501(c) organization - and you will receive a tax receipt via email for your donation.
Here's how to donate:
1) Click on this link, or go to www.helpthekids.us (That URL will redirect you to my fundraising site within the Extra Life campaign. I bought the domain name since it's easier to remember than a mile-long string of numbers, letters, and punctuation).
2. Click on the "Support Me" button
3. Fill out the donation form. Be sure to donate the proper amount for however many raffle entries you want (e.g. three raffle entries = $75.00).
IMPORTANT - while filling out the form, you MUST fill out the section that says "Message to Scott" with Poker Chip Forum (Probably best not to abbreviate it PCF in case someone dumb thinks the terrorists suddenly became charitable) and your forum name.
IF YOU DO NOT LIST YOUR FORUM USER NAME IN THIS AREA, YOUR DONATION WILL NOT EARN YOU ANY RAFFLE ENTRIES!!! I will not be spending time tying email messages and conversations back to rogue donations amounts.
Note that you can also list who sees the message, who can see your actual name, who can see what you donated, etc. Plenty of privacy options at your disposal.
4. Pay. Donations can be submitted via credit card or Paypal.
5. Wait for the raffle to be conducted on Saturday, November 14th, using Random.org's third-party draw service.
That's it! Super simple.
