Sitting Out
Hey everyone,
I’m new to the forum and very interested in eventually participating in a group buy, but before jumping in I want to do my due diligence and follow the advice I see recommended over and over - ordering samples and getting some hands-on experience first.
Up until now, my only real reference point has been an off-the-rack Walmart chip set, so this is very much new territory for me. I host laid-back, low-stakes home games with friends, and while I’m drawn to the idea of 43mm chips (they seem like they’d be pretty rad for a home game), I’ve never actually handled them. I’m currently torn between 39mm and 43mm and would love to get a feel for both before committing.
Pardon my ignorance here, but would my best initial move be to order a few samples through Justin (Broken Arrow), assuming that’s ultimately the route I’d go for a group buy anyway? Or would it make more sense to start with samples from somewhere like The Poker Store or Apache to establish a baseline first? My thinking is to evaluate chips that will best translate to what I’d eventually end up with, but I’d really appreciate any guidance from those with more experience.
Thanks in advance, looking forward to learning.
