Dcarl
Two Pair
Been working on this set the last 6 months or so. I posted awhile back some ideas I had, but wanted to go a different direction. Here is that original thread for context:
https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/empire-lakes-design.138835/
As stated in the initial post, the name/idea came from a golf course named Empire Lakes that used to be in the city I live in Rancho Cucamonga.
It's a course designed by Arnold Palmer, that got closed down awhile ago for apartments. I remember before they closed they had insane deals and I was going literally every day after work. It's where I fell in love with golf and kind of got my swing down. Come to find out, my wife learned how to drive in the parking lot with her dad. So pretty crazy connection there.
I always thought the name of the course would be cool for a design. After speaking with a few designers, @TheLemursReturn worked with my thousands of tiny revisions and ideas. I think what he came up with was exactly what I was thinking. Something vintage inspired and bold that spoke for itself. I wanted the Alta Loma as the city as I think it reads a little easier and also it's a small town north of Rancho Cucamonga where I live now. So I can look back and remember the house im in now when I got the chips made/labeled.
Before photos I just want to say thank you to all involved whether you knew it or not:
@Gear for labels
@pokercole for milling Perris chips and label removal on $5's
@itilthard for Perris $1's
@foreverdev for River city pink fracs
@chipzilla for extra river city fracs
@SJFCPK18 for jack $5's
@TricycleClub for the black Jack chips ($20 chip)
I am getting a Barrington table topper made but couldn't wait to get photos. I'll have to grab some photos once I get the table topper made.
The Set:
For a mild to splashy every now and then .25/.50 up to .50/$1
140ish - .25c
400 - $1
200 - $5 (will add a rack down the line)
40 - $20
