I'm sorry but I'm a little confused from the apache vs chiproom comment. These are china clay and not plastic right?
The Chip Room Dunes are the original cc version (2008 or so). The Apache Dunes version are newer (2017), with some new colors, patterns, and label artwork. Both are china clay, which is a injection-molded plastic polymer with additives to give it more of a 'clay-like' feel.

Thank you for the clarification

There is also a third version that Apache sells as well, that is pure plastic injection molded with faux shaped labels.

So three “tribute” versions.

1. Chip Room group buy with round labels and the word “Commemorative” on the label. These are CC and I don’t think there was a $20 chip.
2. Apache group buy, similar (but not all the same, as the Chip Room ones) colors and edge spots. Round label but no “Commemorative” on them. A $20 was added to this GB.
3. Plastic injection mold sold by Apache, this set has faux shaped labels and the “Commemorative” on them. I think the colors and edge spots are the same as the Chip Room ones.

So be careful when adding on to these sets. Just because they are China Clays does not mean all the colors and edge spots are the same among denominations, and even if all the edge spots and colors match does not mean they are the same material or labels.

I love the $20 chip vs a $25 for any set. Seems more logical for cashing people out at the end of the night.

yeah totally. and for add ons. much easier to just take a 20 dollar bill form someone. Most people show up with a few 20s. Generally people dont show up with any 5s...

Thank you! I'll have to think about it for a little bit... really wish those 20's were 25's to be honest haha
Aw, give $20’s a chance. Just because you’re not used to them, doesn’t mean they don’t work great.
My main cash set has $20’s, but I have a couple other sets with $25’s that I’ll use with the same guys, and if anybody’s ever cared, they haven’t said a word.
Granted, these are always .25/.50 games, so the $20 or the $25 is always the big chip, and not used for betting very much. I don’t know if people would care more with a $2/$5 game, where the green chips are getting splashed around more. But it’s not like we’re talking complicated math here. If it takes your brain an extra second to calculate a $50 bet as two $20s and two $5s versus two $25s, you might have a damaged brain.
