Does anyone know what color this is? (2 Viewers)

I didn’t know where to post this. Maybe someone knows what color this is. I recently bought some wonderful ASM chips, and this beautiful set was included.

By chance, I then saw a listing for a “Spielbank Berlin” barrel. I decided to take the risk and bought them from Matthew @mr11 — and they match perfectly.

I have samples from ASM and CPC, but none of them match this color. It looks like some kind of turquoise or mint color, and it also doesn’t contain any bronze flakes.

Does anyone know exactly what this is? I read in some old posts from @David Spragg that they once tried to create a “mint green,” but the attempt was unsuccessful.

The color would be: Light Blue

There have been slight transitions in colors over the years, especially from ASM to CPC, but the color names remained the same.

Even within CPC ownership, color hues have slightly changed. This is evident if you compare color sample sets over the years. For example, the top 2 chips here are both Light Blue from the unlabeled color sample set and the inlaid color sample set. The color difference is apparent.

What are the bottom 4 chips, you ask? Good question. They are also Light Blue chips, the difference being slight formula changes in batches during CPC's color experimentation. It's difficult to see in pictures but there are slight differences between each chip.

I have CPC's "color transition" index chips (top two boxes). One of these colors may match your chip, or maybe not, depending on how old your chip is. Every time CPC changes colors to a significant degree, they keep a sample and (sometimes) mark it.

The bottom box are 2 color sample sets (inlaid and non-marked, both on A-mold). They vary slightly in color.

If the chips are old, then based more on OP's description than the pictures which can be misleading, the color could be Seafoam Green. I've never seen that color in person and don't know when its use was discontinued, but the below chip might be an example of it.

Даже в рамках одной компании CPC цветы немного изменились. Это очевидно, если сравнивать наборы образцов цветов разных лет. Например, две крышки образца здесь — светло-голубые, как из образцов образцов без маркировки, так и из образцов образцов с инкрустацией. Разница в цвете очевидна.

Что это за 4 случая, спросите вы? Хороший вопрос. Это тоже светло-голубые выводы, разница заключается в небольших изменениях формулы в партии во время экспериментов CPC с цветом. На фотографиях это сложно разглядеть, но между каждым оттенком есть небольшая разница.

У меня есть индексные фрагменты CPC с «цветовыми переходами» (две крышки ящика). Один из этих цветов может совпасть с твоим образцом, а может и нет, в зависимости от того, насколько он старый. Каждый раз, когда CPC значительно меняет цвет, они сохраняют образец и (иногда) маркируют его.

В нижнем ящике скрыты 2 набора образцов цвета (с инкрустацией и без маркировки, оба в А-форме). Они немного различаются по цвету.

Thank you for your message. I know that there can be slight variations when the factory mixes different batches, for example like these yellow ones.

But this is not just a variation of light blue. This color does not contain bronze flakes (like Day-Glo colors) and sits somewhere between green and blue, something like Paulson’s “Indian Blue.”

When you see them in person, you immediately realize that it’s a different color.

The plain mold chips are just shown in the Burt Co records as 'blue'. I know that in real life those chips look 'aqua' and are different to all the blues since then.
There was an old DG Blue but I'm away at the moment and don't have a good pic example to show as the few that are on chipguide are clearly badly scanned colors. I'll find some examples next week.

I would agree with the 'blue aqua' color callout. Overall, if I were designing a set around a color scheme I would refer to that as a sea foam scheme for that range of 'blues'.

Having worked with a few graphic designers for non-chip related things I can hear them telling me that.

It was never in our 'recipe' book so we have no idea how it was made. May have had an ingredient with lead.
Those roulettes are a lot older than I thought. 1977 per the orders.

If these are Burt chips, that explains a lot, since they really did have non-standard colors.
