Very cool any old school 1200s in that pile of gear?
I was a lazy half assed DJ brother! Traktor S8 all digital... never an OS spinner! I wish I was that awesome!

Still keeping the good set up! The "small set up" is 6000 watt JBL PRX812 tops and PRX815 subs. My travel set gets the job dome though are Behringer 12" subs which are bad ass and light, with 10" JBl tops... pretty much still cover two blocks if necessary with the small set up!

Mostly I just play music. I got into mixing for a while but accidentally put 8,000 song from iTunes in the trash and all my intros and exits, literally thousands of hours of work was stored in the trash. I ran a sweeper when she got slow one time... it said I had 45 gigs in the trash (before solid state) with one click of empty trash it was all gone. I spent hundreds trying to get it back from the hard drives but it was all chopped up and not complete files. It was way more stress than the money was worth for a part time gig! So I basically walked away... only DJ friends weddings now on a rare occasion.

I have way too much gear and it takes up way too much space! Old school Carvin Amps (freaking awesome) even an old set of Peavey PR15s, the live musicians love those for their acoustics. EV 18" subs, one hand rebuilt by me... tons of stuff. Just a past life now. 2 travel sized sets is enough now.

Wow still that’s awesome ! Though sorry about losing all those songs, that sucks!

I’ve been mixing for decades. Any technic 1200s or pioneer mixers around? Cdjs? Hard to tell by the pics but it looks like mostly a big PA system. Is that even possible to ship?

Still haven't fully recovered it got all my music back. I mean I have a hard drive with 150k songs, another for Karaoke but I mean my music... luckily the deleted files did not leave I tunes it just says file nit found with an asterisk so I know what's missing. But it takes years just to get all of that plus all my intros. Drops, blending exits... you name it gone! Haven't touched the coffin since! Oh well all in the past!

Not willing to ship it. just took lazy pics. Could take better ones for someone interested in buying it, or if I dont get any hits I'll take the covers off and take better images.

All PA systems, probably will sell my traktor S4 with dual F1s in the coffin but so heavy and honestly old now it's not worth much. Hell when I deleted my music I can't even remember my software subscriptions or anything. Program alone is like $300.

Its not top end stuff. I told her that post is way too generic and has pics of my mixer and keeper speakers. I didn't even know she made the post. We need to pull everything out and list it properly!

But with covid going on it is not the time to sell equipment!

Cool topic...I've been a club dj (resident & adhoc) for years, kids ended that...but i'm now more a gearhead then when I was still active.

My music studio was my real money pit...especially rotary mixers...I have quite the collection from old school bozak & rane 2016 to current rane 2015 & ARS.
Only one missing in the collection is the Xone V6

I own a pair of cdj 2000 but 99% play wax...have an army of 8 1200's (6 MKII & 2 MK5) and 8000 vinyls to back them up :)
Amps are crown macro's and soundsystem is EAW & JBL (all high end series/tourning gear....I refurbed them all from trash)

My wife & neighbours hate that room...for me it's my ultimate kingdom

And yes, bad timing for selling atm...I see a lot of small sound systems being bought up by bigger firms due to covid & lockdowns.
But once the goose is loose again...there will be so many parties that business will be booming bigtime.

Then you need to sell the gear

What type of clubs and what genre?

Ill guess techno.

Played big & famous venues (Café d'Anvers, Silo, Food club, Culture Club, Fuse, ...) & concepts but also smaller clubs.
It paid for almost everything during college years...

Deephouse (non commercial, heavy disco infuenced) was my thing.
Music is always evolving but track below is a good example of my kind of track selection

My best friend growing up is massively into deep house. He's DJs and runs his own club nights in Bristol.

I like that kind of stuff if I'm just sitting around, it's a nice sound. But I'm a trance guy myself lol.

And not to forget the authentic Belgian club sound

For many years we were rave & club land nr 1 (no shit, best XTC too, so I heard ;) )

some examples (last link is one of my favourite dance trax ever...GOAT and I know the guy that made it too)
Second is also a 90's banger but played during a big revival party)

Ps. f*ck Dimitry Vegas & Like Mike....dickheads with ghost producers and shitty sound

Push universal nation is an absolute classic. Strange world has had a lot of great remixes recently too.

Love the DJ stuff Ben and its cool that others are/were into it too. My DJ knowledge is really old school and limited as my Brother and cousin were DJs in the 80-90s. They stored all their records and equipment (including like 1200s, mixers - standard at the time were Numarks, amps, speakers, lights etc) in the enclosed back patio of our house and used to practice there all the time. My entire record collection got absorbed into theirs. They did mostly house and frat parties and made and sold lot of mixed tapes. the coolest part and i didn't realize it at the time is that my cousin used to buy sell and trade mixed tapes at the Roadium swap meet in Torrance with a guy named Steve Yano. If you are interested in Hip Hop history you can google his name with Eric Wright and see the connection. I should ask my cousin if he still has any those tapes.
