I have a project coming up where I need to build twenty tables, and they all the to have a space for a dealer, so my question is: how wide should the gap in the rail be to accommodate this, or how wide is it traditionally?

I've always just made it big enough for a dealer to comfortably rest his arms. 20ish inches give it take.
