Just got these in the mail yesterday! Here are my thoughts:

1. Size: I already own 40mm Monte Carlos from Amazon, and these are 39mm's. So I was not expecting them to feel smaller, but I can definitely notice the ~1mm difference. The internet seems to say that 39mm is the standard size for casino chips and chips in general, while 40mm's is the standard low-end chip size. Is that correct? Because I don't know but I just can't seem to get over how small they feel. The height is the same as my old ones though, and I should also mention that they're a bit lighter but I don't mind that. I can appreciate any weight of chip #chipbodyppositivity

2. Texture: The side texture was what I was expecting them to feel like, but I was surprised to discover that the front and back of the chips are not completely smooth feeling like the sides are. I don't know if it's due to the process of putting on the artwork or if it's done intentionally to not make the chips too slippery. Either way I don't mind, this just surprised me when I first felt them.

3. Art: The design of these chips is fantastic, no complaints there. I especially like how the sides all have their own patterns, so I think a stack of one colour is gonna look really cool.

4. Edges: The edges seem to be more round than square, so standing them up on their sides isn't very easy, but they feel reaaallly nice when I riffle them. My old chips had some sharp edges, so riffling them was sometimes a bit painful, but none of that with these chips. The riffling feels great. I should also note that there are no spinners, and in a stack they aren't too slippery (probably because of that texture I mentioned before).

The dealer button is also fantastic, I got their biggest size (60mm) and it has a very nice weight and thickness to it

If you made it this far, let me know what you guys think about the 40mm vs 39mm sizes, also if I decide to buy a whole set of these, I want to get semi-customs but I'm still unsure about which colour each denomination will be. My denoms would probably be 5c, 25c, 1$, 5$, 10$, (cash), and 25, 100, 500, 1000, 5000 (tournament). And if there's any thing else I should know please let me know because I'm pretty new to the world of poker chips!

The vast majority of quality chips are either 39 mm, or 43 mm. If you think 39 mm is small, wait until you handle a 36mm horseshoe Cincinnati tournament chip! Stop using that 40mm junk and switch to 39 mm chips. You'll get used to it pretty fast.

BRPro uses the same blanks on all their chips I believe, so that texture is just a part of the blank. I personally like it since it helps with the chips being too slippery which some ceramics are. The edges being rounded are also most likely part of the fact that since they are ceramic they won't wear down over time, so sharp edges might not be desirable since they'll never go away.

The DDLM artwork is fantastic; That's one of the reasons when I built my custom set I went for 43mm, so I could see it even more.

My advice, from someone who bought DDLM's as their first REAL poker set, is to try and make the semi custom denoms close to standard. I didn't with my tournament set and it can be annoying. The cash set I went a little unorthodox with purple $5 and I like that.

Order extras. They're a great chip, and probably the best ceramic out there imo. My players like these better than anything else tbh.

Oh, and 39 is standard. 40mm is not.

Standard colors be damned!!!!

@JScott I think that's what makes the DDLM's special... is because of the artwork I think that you choose the chips that you want based on the art not the base color. some people may not like the green chip artwork and therefore they shouldn't incorporate it into their set. Others might not like the black chip artwork. But the point is that you should pick the art that you love and figure out a way to get that into your set.

I went with standard colors except for the $5,000 (got the plaques). I used the yellow instead as the nickel.
Great chips! That texture on the faces is similar to a Chipco chip, which is common as a casino ceramic.

As others have said, yes 39 is definitely standard. What I find interesting is the difference of a mold affecting that feel. To me the DDlM feel noticeably smaller than the 39mm Nevada Jack just due to the slightly beveled edge on the DD vs squared edge on Nevada Jack even though true diameter and thickness are exactly the same

That's exactly what I did. I went with a Mexican flag theme for the tournament set. I still kinda wish I went standard.

I just LOVED the purple so had to use that as my $5. AND $5000.

Hi Poker-friends !!!

I'm very happy with my setup and the colors :) :)

Would love to have the orange chips more involved in the game and also use the yellow plaques.

Do you guys think, it is worth to think about doing the orange chip as $2000 and using yellow plaques as $5000 ?
So there would be blue $1000 and orange $ 2000 in the game. Or would it maybe be somehow annoying ?

Nice tourney set! Most people think that have 2 denominations under a multiple of 4-5x slows down the game. Having both a $1k and $2k chip seems redundant. But I hear ya; the DDLMs are so damn colorful that you want them all on the table. So, you can do whatever makes you happy... but it might just slow down your tournament a bit.

Thank you, good "advice"

Thanks for the review! I’m considering a 500-set of these as my just-in-case tourney set.

I basically always do cash games, but if somebody wants a no limit tourney I’d like to be prepared. Probably a Boy Scout thing.
