Hey party people. First time traveling with 600 chips in my Versa in normal Paulson racks, I left them in the car overnight in the case. It looks like I have some storage issues. No big damage, but some black "edgespots" where the chips met the case, and one of the screws actually stuck through the bottom of the lid and damaged a chip. Has anyone had this happen before? Bummed about it, I don't have the nicest chips but I thought this storage would be more reliable. May stick to my big ol' Apache cases.

Pictures don't really do it justice. I think the black marks are just smudged dye from the box liner but still disappointing to show up if I'm transporting chips. I would have to get there, take some time to spitshine the chips, then start running bank.

Edit: DUH! Foam in the wrong place. Damage is very minimal, just black smudges and a small nick on a chip that already has flea bites. Thanks all, user error.

So sorry to heard that but Is it because you didn’t put the foam cover (2) as seem in the picture here ?

Mine may have been delivered incomplete? It didnt come with any top foam, just whats shown and its a snug fit. Thats the bottom foam pulled up. Its thick enough that I can actually see removing some and using half for a top piece.

Edit: ooooh am I an idiot? Is that the top? Cause the bottom has the rack bottom. Ah shit.

The foam goes in the top. The bottom has no foam. You got it backwards.

I have a couple of these I am giving away because I prefer Nanuk cases. The Versas have worked fine for me. But I use Justin racks, so the tops are protected no matter what case I put them in.

Sorry about the damage. That sucks.

No problem at all! Actual damage was very minimal, lil dent on a beatup chip. Was honestly more worried about the smudge whether that would happen every time.

This makes sense, duh! Thanks, total user error. Leaving this thread up to mark my shame.

You are in good company. Adam Savage made the exact same mistake!

"Real American Clay" chips will NOT withstand either freezing temperatures, or scorching temperatures above 37 Celsius (figure out what that is in Fahrenheit)

Those foam is for the top, and as other mentioned rack like the Matsui or Justin racks are more superior as they cover the whole surface.

I made the same mistake with that foam piece. I swear when I got the case from Amazon the foam was installed in the bottom so I left it there. Then one day I saw a post here with a pic of the foam in the top and wondered why I'd been putting up with wobbly racks all this time. lol
