Has anyone ordered a Tina set with the Día de los muertos design on them?

Looking to see what options are available out there, if you have any info lmk!

Tina when asked about intellectual property rights.

Ray Liotta Lol GIF

This happened with Nevada Jack in the past.

And the only set I did with this Tina was available on their site right after my chips were shipped to me.

If you were to design your own Day of the Dead (DDLM) graphics, with distinct artwork, that would be different. If you were just going to do a straight copy (or a copy with very minor changes), then I think that supporting the original designer (BR Pro) would be the way to go.

But there's a ton of Tina "tribute" sets on this forum, and I don't see that many knickers in a twist over them

I think copying exactly 1-to-1 casino chips is a no-go. My humble opinion.

But original design from a sponsoring vendor of PCF shall not even considered here.

Ya I think the biggest difference for most people is who you are stealing the idea from.

Multi-billion dollar corporation who's sole purpose is to milk you dry for money? Or small business who makes cool designs for you and your friends to enjoy at a home poker game.

This is not to say that stealing isn't wrong. But I'm very comfortable making a tribute of a Casino's design vs anyone else's.

And yes, in principal I also don't like 1:1 copies.

But who's more likely to sue you for every cent you have...?

Of course we know who, the villain...lol

But the thought is it's better to take advantage of the little guy because he can't/won't defend himself? (I know you said to support BR Pro btw, which I'm in the same thought as seen by my original comment)

No, just pointing out that stealing from rich corporations is not risk free.
I agree, but I also feel like unless people are planning on selling exact copies of designs for profit and they are just making tribute designs for their friends to use for fun then those corporations wouldn't or shouldn't care.

There was definitely a big debate about the Tina tribute sets at one point. Some people had outwardly strong opinions against doing tribute sets, others not so much

I don't know for sure, but at some level it feels like PCF (or at least the majority of new folks who arrive here) are just looking for the cheapest, least expensive, easiest to get version of something they have seen elsewhere.

No/minimal original thought. Full Veruca Salt attitude and level of patience for just about anything.

Just buy the O.G. as linked to above, or maybe find a different/more enabling hobby. Other folks have been shunned from here because of lesser morals (Super Mario World, anyone?). Be bigger than that, and select the high road.

[Side note, I might not be 100% sober as I write this, which is bound to make me a little snippy in my replies, in person or otherwise, but I was also on the receiving end of I.P. theft in the past and I happen to be a bit biased about how things like this are handled anymore.]

It’s only ok to steal designs from real casinos not fantasy chips or chips designed by folks on here. Hope that helps.
This goes well beyond the debate of IP / graphic design use. This exact product - design, chip type, etc - is literally offered by BrPro, available and ready to ship to your door. Buying the Tina version to save a few cents per chip directly takes money out of the pocket of a vendor that has helped bring products and designs to the chipping community for years. I call a spade a spade.

I’m well aware of all that and agree with you.
