I just don’t see how once they open with the backlog and all the new orders that have been waiting to place for months that orders wont take 6-12 months in 2026. Optimal from davids CPC was 3-4 months. Not sure who is gonna be willing to spend 2-5k+ and wait a year for chips. There just had to be a better way to cross this over to new ownership imho.

Remains to be seen if any orders will even be accepted in 2026. How many of the pre-closure sets are still waiting to be produced? I kind of hope they complete the backlog before taking new orders, though that may not be economically feasible.

This is what I would do. Of course I have zero financial wherewithal and am not privy to even a fraction of what goes on behind the scenes.

Once permits are obtained and the all clear is given to start operations, I would send out a message to all people with paid orders giving a timeline of when their orders will be made sorted by mold.

Concurrently, I would also make note that while new orders are welcome, that they probably won't be made until 2027 or even beyond depending on work flow. In exchange, I would offer a tiered discount based on the amount paid and the size and cost of the order. Example, a $5000 order gets 5% off if paid off in full upon ordering. The same $5000 gets 2% or 3% off if paid off by a certain date (one year or 9 months prior to projected pressing date).

Offer promotions for these orders. DG color surcharges waived for a $2500 or more purchase. Free shaped inlays on one denomination of chips in a set with a $5000 purchase. Free across the whole set for a $7500 purchase. 10% off for a $10,000 order. A lifetime rewards program of some kind for anyone putting in a new order by a certain date. Bring in more business and more capital to cover expenses.

Yeah. This isn't anything new. I generally cut out 10m to a year for any orders.

If production cannot physically speed up, and old owner told new owner, "Don't worry, they'll wait. They've always waited. They're used to it", things will stay the same.

i’ve come around on CPC after not caring for them much in my first year chipping. Jockey mold has made me a believer and I hope they will come back someday. That being said one of the biggest drawbacks still is the payment up front thats held for months to a year before receiving them.

Unless someones buying thousands of chips I dont see how a down payment with full payment when production is scheduled no more than 2 months wouldn't be best for the customer and the business. I cant imagine the materials would need to be purchased that shouldn't already be in stock, but then again i know nothing about chip manufacturing

It’s the labor. And that’s the bottom line. Those old machines are incapable of being run autonomously.
Faster chips=more people to produce=much higher cost and you just can’t get around that.

I waited around 7-8 months for each of my sets. Didn't bother me too much tbh, but I get why full payment up front for a wait time of potentially a year is a hard pill to swallow. Maybe the solution is 50% up front and the balance prior to delivery, or something along those lines.

People can choose not to pay and go with Tina or ready now sets lol. I even recall before the sale David has been on here saying they need orders. Economy isn’t exactly booming atm either for non essential items like Poker Chips lol.

I think this is great idea but again might not be financially viable for new owners to be waiting months and months on other half of payments. It sure speed up orders I bet though •

You’re spending a bunch of money and design time/energy to go after the most luxury product in an already luxury market (no one needs chips) and you don’t mind waiting? What’s a long lead time compared to owning something for like forever? People buy CPCs without having other chips first that work in the meantime? Folks can afford CPCs but not an interim option?

The horrible communication is a long time serious flaw out of CPC. It certainly feels like that needs addressing. Mike is a tech guy so maybe we can hope he plans to fix that in some sophisticated way?

But the timing? Idk doesn’t feel so critical to me

Eh, he's likely in the home stretch, but who knows if he even has a sense on exact timelines right now too with final details, permitting, hiring, etc.

I don't think this is a case of silence being inactivity, and I'm all for letting the man work to get it running. Know folks have waiting a couple years (nearly all of that time out of his hands), but I'd give it 60-90 days more before it's time to really start shaking the trees.

I think the issue with waiting is different from david to Mike. Since david had a proven history of delivering then the waiting was just waiting. It wasn’t accompanied by the dread of wondering if you’ll ever get your chips or if the company would shudder and become insolvent before delivery.

It’s different now. I’m ok with the wait. I’m not ok with the realistic outcome that something will go wrong. Burn will continue. Company never starts up again.

I think this isn’t likely but it’s far more likely than david having same issue without a fire or flood or major equipment failure.

I’d want to see deliveries startup and the backlog reduced before I was comfortable with the wait, and just the wait.

BUT. It’s worth mentioning that because they’re not taking new orders it seems they have the best intentions and are comfortable with cash reserves needed to get through the startup time.

David was very reactively responsive but that wasn’t a good communication program for a company these days imo.

A large thread exists here for the sole purpose of folks confusingly quoting his emails to them as they try to piece together estimates of when they’d get their chips.

he wasn't proactive with delivery estimates/updates, and the ones he did give were sometimes too rosy, but calling that "horrible communication" is unfair, and that's all i'm pushing back on.
