I had occasion to take the tourney set out for some shots, unimpressive they may be from a technical perspective, so I thought I'd put them up since I don't think they've ever been posted here before other than an occasional action shot.

Both were originally posted on ChipTalk, the cash set here and the tourney set here. The story behind the name and - in the case of the cash chips - the design is explained in those threads along with some photos of the interior of the actual Clermont Lounge. There will definitely be a Clermont excursion for those interested during this year's Shootout at the Post (don't worry, Tom - I won't rob you of your players too long and I promise they'll be well-lubricated to donate when they return!). It's a sight for sure and worth visiting more than once.

All credits are listed in the CT threads, but so it doesn't go unnoticed, John/J5 did the design on both chips and Collin/monkeydog did the stamping on the tourney set. Both were excellent to work with as you would expect. And a substantial honorable mention to Ed/emptypocs who was ultra-generous in helping me put together the blanks for what I believe was his actual cost, which was absurd given that I picked them up after BCC had folded and the chips would never be made available again. Ed is one of the true CT/PCF mensches.

Breakdowns are as shown in the first shot of each set (with extras of each denom, naturally). Colors are:

Cash/ASM:
.25 - Mandarin Red
.50 - Dark Green
1 - Light Blue
5 - Yellow
25 - Purple
100 - White

Tourney/BCC:
25 - TRK Signal Green
100 - Charcoal
500 - TRK Lavender
1000 - TRK Fire
5000 - TRK Light Blue

First the cash set and then the tourney below.

2 impressive sets. The no-mold cash set is my favorite. Very classy, instead of customs they look like they could have been found in those backroom illegal clubs from the 40's-50's (all that's missing are the cig burns and 50 years of oil/grime). (y)

The tourney set carried me to a fourth place finish in the SOHE world championship last year. Totally amazing.

Look forward to playing with the cash set someday! No mold ASMs for the win!

Much appreciated! Best compliment you could pay to the cash set. That was exactly the look I was going for. :)

Tourney set is amazing, got the great chore of packing those bad boys up after the SoHE tourney ended and Jack had a little too much to drink.

Also helped me place 2nd to Chippy, if only I could have held the final hand. We would have 9 less months of the skunk champ, a win for humanity

The Clermont Lounge tournament chips are some of my all time favorite chips.
  • Absolute favorite hot-stamped chip
  • Absolute favorite solid set
  • Top-tier themed set (if fucking cheezy is a theme, and I think it is). The only thing that would make these better is to put them into play at an actual casino for a year to get them appropriately disgusting.
I've been tempted on multiple occasions to visit the actual Clermont Lounge, because of these chips. However, the building exterior is so gross I've not picked up the nerve to go inside.

Two great sets! I love the old fashioned look of the no molds! Also, the stamp on the tourney set is well done. PrOn like this makes me miss BCC, because the MGK is a great mold.

Great idea for a theme, and you were able to use it, to produce two HOF worthy sets!!

These sets may just be my favorite custom combo sets out there. Both done so well and both fit perfectly what I think a great home cash / tourney set should be.

Love them.

Well, I bought one of those shirts today as a Christmas gift...

^^^^
This. I looked it up last time I was down there and the outside gave me crabs just looking at it from the car.

Somehow I have managed to live in Atlanta area my entire adult life and avoided the Clermont Lounge. Somethings cannot be unseen.

I have played cash games with these chips, love the speakeasy age style.

I have now gone there and stayed at the hotel the day before @Mr Tree 's meetup one year. I'm not much of one for strip clubs anymore, because I have the awareness to know that I would just look like a creepy old guy or a sad old guy.

But the Clermont has a aura of IDGAS - I'd go back.
