Interest ChipCo Chips (5 Viewers)

I was going to suggest a fresh take on the American Beauties lineup:

However it looks like Greg Hildebrandt passed late last year :( Pending whoever has taken over his estate, it may be a challenge getting someone to discuss an arrangement to use more of his artwork. Really a shame because his pin up girl artwork is incredible, lots of potential for a new lineup

My Chipco set is 18 years old, has a white ring, at the time I ordered back then you had no choice the ring was there. They still look great but at home use I would expect nothing less. I paid $1 each back then, so if you get that price for real Chipco blanks,, you’re getting a good deal. To be honest BRPro satin blanks are damn close and you can print to the edge.

Have you noticed any color bleed from chip to chip? I've seen this with Casino used Red Chipco's. And with your set being 18 years old, I would think that is a long enough time to see if that would happen with a home set.

Another idea that won’t get enough support: have the edge spots make a word/design when stacked together.

I think I remember seeing this before, but don’t recall the set (Caribe maybe)?

All I know is that ever since watching High Stakes Poker Season 2 (at The Palms), I wanted a set of chips that made the distinct sound in splashed pots. Years later, found out they were ChipCo. So, here we are

Same here, good times!

I had a set of Chipco Presidents that did this

Cool chips, but a horrible set for dirty stacks though.

Would a different edge spot picture for each denomination help? So if you had a wrong one it wouldn’t fit and stand out more?
They just shouldn't have used so much of the same colors on the edges. I don't think it's the flag image that was the issue.

I’m working on getting the price-per-chip and minimum order quantity details finalized with them. Right now, what they’re proposing is way off from their 2024 pricing and doesn’t reflect today’s market IMO, especially with the availability of lower-cost Chinese-made chips. Yes, these are made in the USA and are a premium product, but that only goes so far. A realistic price point based on 2024 prices should be around $105 per rack @ 10k minimum order quantity. They do charge a $199 fee for the first chip design and $25 for each additional (also based on 2024 pricing). For 6 denoms, that adds about 3 cents per chip at the 10K qty.

If I can get the cost and quantity details sorted out, I’ll request a rack of each of the three chip styles (Protech, Prestige, Signature) and put together half-barrel sample sets, even if I have to cover the cost myself.
Would also definitely purchase a barrel to sample

Without the linen blanks I have to admit I'm less excited.

But I would be down for a half or full barrel sample set to see if any of the other styles strike my fancy..

@CraigT78 interested if these are similar to your last chips produced by GOCC especially the QC, edge finishes.

I can include this with your order. Just close your eyes and let your imagination run wild while touching the chips!

I do hope these are better than my last add-on. After that order, I won't do business with this company again.

First real poker chips I played with were the linen textured chipcos. The nostalgia of the sound and feel... Wanted a set of these since I found PCF. I just know someone around the Seattle has a bunch of these collecting dust. (These images may or may not have come from that website that gets mad when we use their photos without giving them credit)

Yeah, I'm less excited as well. I liked Chipco's for a reason. Not feeling too good about a totally different product with the same name.

Impressed you got somebody there to respond.

More impressed that you think to mimic a clay chip and its edgespots is a waste of these chips.

I manufactured these (Nevada Jacks).. American beauties were featured in the Jessica Biel edition of Playboy magazine 2006 or the Dwayne Wade GQ edition 2006... can't recall which one but NJ was featured in both.

These edge spots were a cool surprise.
Maybe put PCF on the edge?
