what do you think is a safe chip bank for a single table $2/5 NL Hold'em game. Probably 7 or 8 players. $400 to $1000 buy-in.

My PCA set has a bank of $20k from $5-$100 chips. This seems like a lot, but if 8 people were to buy in for the max almost 1/2 the chips are on the table already.

My custom set of CPC chips will have about the same total bank. I'm thinking a barrel of $500's for each set would give them enough bank if a game ever gets crazy with add-ons/rebuys.

Thoughts?

If you have 20k on the table between seven players, who would want to rebuy into that game for $1k?

True. But we have a tendency to get lax on the max with players that are stuck a lot. After all, there is usually a good reason they are stuck! :sneaky::D

It depends on the history of the group. $20,000 seems like an adequate bank, it is 500bb per player. However, a barrel of $500 chips would solve this issue for sure. That would add $10,000 to the bank and give the guys something to shoot for.

A barrel of 500 chips would definitely give you plenty of room in the bank. Honestly if the game has more than 30k on the table at that point you have to start buying in with cash oh well at that point no one would care about the chip situation. Everyone would be focused on the insane action in the game.
