Looking to help a friend secure his first tournament set so that he can host. He is looking for a set that can cover 20 players + rebuys, T25 base. Preferably under $350. It can be Tina hybrids, China Clays, etc.

Hmmm. Your budget is tight but maybe doable if you do rebuys with only really large denoms and then have players make change at the table but $350 won’t go far if rebuy stacks are same as staring stack.

Most T25 starting stacks have something like 12/12/5/6/x so ~40 chips. 20 x 40 already puts you at 43¢/chip before you even buy upper denoms and that’s just one rebuy each.

Maybe PM @Josh Kifer to see what Isle Pompano chips he has left. Those were prices quite generously

Sorry, I should have specified the break down he wants. 8/8/2/7 for 10K starting stack, with adding 2 5Ks for a 20K stack.

I think you meant 8/8/4/7 (8/8/2/7 only makes 9K).
160 x T25
160 x T100
80 x T500
160 x T1000 (incl. the chips to color-up the T25 and T100).
130 x T5000 (incl. the chips to color-up the T500 and 20 rebuys)
10 x T25000 (to color-up the T1000)

So 600 chips shall get you covered.
So, about 50c / chip considering a few spares.

Good luck in your quest.

That is actually the perfect breakdown of what he is looking for.

Except that totals 700 chips. :)

Just drop the 25k?
Even with 20 players and 20 re-buys, the total chips in play totals 400k. That's just 16x 25k chips, even if you colored-up everything else (which is not possible given the blinds). The most 25k chips that would actually ever get used is six (6), and those are totally optional.

Edit: (20 x 20k) + (20 × 20k) = 800k, or 32x 25k chips. But the 6-max number is still valid, but a lot more T5000 chips will be needed.

160/160/80/140/60 is what is needed.
I thought it was T20K / 20 players with rebuys and I considered 20 rebuys.

Hence why I proposed more 5000 and 25000 chips to color-up the 1000.

What are people's thoughts on this breakdown for a single table T5 or T25 set? (The upcoming chip room sale pricing is front of mind)

T5 x 200
T25 x 200
T100 x 140
T500 x 40
T1000 x 20

Thanks!
