This is beyond frustrating, but we are forced to change our gaming suede again. Once again, supply has run out and they don't know if they're going to be able to obtain any more of the Casino grade gaming suede that I've been using for the last several years. This means we are forced to switch fabrics, again... (4th time is the charm). If our supplier is able to restock our Casino grade, then I'm going to go back to it once it's available.

The good news is that the new fabric that I've ordered and test is extremely slick. Our casino gaming suede has always had good card slide, but not as good when compared to Suited Speed Cloth (SSC). This stuff is even slicker!

The good:
  • Card slide is excellent
  • Print resolution is very good
  • Waterproof coating
The bad:
  • Card slide is so good, you cannot fan out cards.
  • It has a slight plastic feel, but it's not as coarse as SSC
If your table has a dedicated dealer who does a proper fan of the cards for a flop, then you do not want to use the Smooth side of this material. The back side, which is our "fleece" side, is better for that. Cards fan out excellent, but card slide is greatly diminished. For a dedicated dealer though, they usually don't rely on card slide since they're positioned in the middle of the table. Cards do slide just fine, but not as well as the smooth side.

We still have about 100 yards of our Casino grade gaming suede, but once it's gone, it's gone. If our supplier brings it back, then we'll restock and offer both options.

This new material is going to be called "Professional Grade Gaming Suede" aka PG Suede.

Edit: Attached is a video comparing our current Casino Grade gaming suede to the Professional Grade, both the smooth side and the fleece side. To recap:
  • Get the smooth side for extra good card slide
  • Get the fleece side if you have a dedicated dealer who sits in the middle of the table.
0:00 Casino grade gaming suede
0:56 End to end casino grade dealing
1:48 PG Smooth side
2:48 PG end to end dealing
3:17 PG Fleece side
3:55 PG Fleece side end to end dealing

Photos of the print quality. The green felt was rolled up funny and has some wrinkling at one end, but that comes out fine with a clothes iron. Neither felt is installed, it's just laying on a table with no glue or staples. The smooth side has a higher definition for print quality.

@EnjoyLife has offered to be our first guinea pig beta tester and will get his cloth in a week or two. He said he'll post a review. His current cloth is our Casino Grade Gaming Suede so it should be a good comparison.
Replying to this for update. It's time for my 2 year refresh so I'll be reaching out shortly Tony!

I am in search of some clothes for a cheap table I'm refinishing.. watching for the updates as well

You need a certain amount of friction between the cards and the cloth in order for the cards to slide off of each other. This stuff is so slick that when you put some pressure on the cards to spread them out, the whole stack just slides instead of separating out one at a time. I'll be sure to post a video when we get our first test print completed which will be in early June.

WOW! That is the one word that describes the glide on this poker felt. The design is also very vibrant on this new felt. I don’t remember the colors popping like this on my original build of the table. That was almost three years ago though. I did have to iron it for quite some time to get the wrinkles out. It came in, what appeared, to be a heavy-duty airtight bag.

The elasticity does feel more rigid, when I was installing it. I think that is going to be a good thing and should hold up to more removals for washing in the washing machine, if that is what you like. I plan to use the Bissell petPro steam cleaner. I am not sure on the best practices for doing so, however.

The glide on the poker cards is like no other. We play a self-dealt game at my house and we have a person that has back issues that has a hard time pitching the cards across the table. I do not think he will have any issues with this felt, as the cards fly on this. The only issue that I see is when fanning out the flop. There isn’t enough grip on the table to allow three cards to be fanned out in one swipe from the deck. I don’t see this as being an issue and will happily take this issue over the players on the ends of the tables not being able to pitch the cards with ease to the other side of the table. If there was a dedicated dealer at the middle of the table, this may be something to consider.

I will do a follow up after our Thursday night game, but I am pretty sure that this is the fabric that I will be choosing for my future orders.

Monthly tournament I play in has three tables and one of them is WAAAYYY to slick. When you deal a card out it bounces around like an air hockey puck. It will literally bounce off the rail and back across the table. Awful cloth.

No, this one also has 2 sides. It has the extremely slick side, and the fleecy side which is recommended for dedicated dealer games where card slide is not as important.

AWESOME! That’s what this felt was according to my poker players. The players that had a hard time dealing cards before, had no issues last night on this new felt. The glide on this felt is perfect. It’s not TOO slippery that they fly like air hockey pucks. It was just right for our self-dealt game. I would not hesitate to purchase a replacement felt on this fabric, if I wanted a new design or a refreshed felt. The players also pointed out how the fabric felt better to the touch than the prior felt as well.

Thanks @T_Chan

I have the sample piece but wanted to be positive the fleece side is usable.

Pic(s) of new felt?

Yes, both sides can be used. I've printed a fill print on each side and plan to do a comparison video soon. Been moving out of our old shop there last 2 weeks keeping me swamped.

Had another poker game for the friends and family (those that just like to get together to pitch cards and bullshit). They all couldn't get over how great this felt is and how the cards slide so nicely. Thanks again!

If you're a casino dealer, and used to pitching cards, you'll be happy with the fleece side of the felt as well. While the graphics are not quite as crisp as on the smooth side, there is just that little bit of tooth to the fabric that allows you to fan the cards easily.

Also tested it with some water droplets on the fleece side, and it still has waterproof qualities.

Is there any of the casino grade felt left ?
Gorilla Gaming premium felt is extremely plush and “hairy” but I find their black colors are very off. Almost look green/grey.

Chan felt can produce the best colors and smooth playing field.
