Not Mine CDI 25K Plaques (1 Viewer)

Atleast shipping is only $100... that's pretty damn resonable for about 2 pounds worth of plaques... even in a $16 medium flat rate box... handaling must be expensive... guessing he is wrapping them in cashmere.

I did do a double take on this listing in case they put an extra zero in the price... and also an extra zero for shipping...

"30 rare Paulson Casino De Isthmus City $25000 Ceramic Plates"

Okay, y'all CDI fans, educate me please - are these actually Paulsons ?? They're ceramic, so I'd assume they're Chipco. Did Paulson have some kind of deal with Chipco where they sold these along with the CDIs in their retail stores?

Some are chalky, some are shiney like the $25k

I believe @BGinGA knows the story on these and the Pharaoh plaques, not made by Paulson but not sure who did make them from my recollection.
I don't recall if these were originally available from ApachePokerChips or HoldemPokerChips (both offered credit-card sized ceramic plaques; Josh @Apache and/or @Potsie1 would know for sure). Either way, back then they were likely produced by Nevada Jacks or possibly Chipco. Definitely NOT made by Paulson.

Any idea why some are shiny and smooth while some have rougher, not shiny faces?

I haven't handled the CdIC plaques, but similar plaques from HoldemPoekerChips (Pharaoh's Club, Formal plaques, etc.) were initially made by one manufacturer (Nevada Jacks?) with a smooth finish, and were later made by a different manufacturer (Sun-Fly?) with a matte-finish surface.

I much prefer the matte-finish version plaques. The smooth finish plaques often had issues with stacking and spinners.

Thanks for the clarification. I hope to find myself with 30x shiny 5k and 30x 25k in a few days.

I’m paying $30 each for the 5ks. PM me if interested or if you’re looking for a trade! I’m sure we can work something out.

I got 28 shiny 25ks, 9 shiny 5ks, and apparently 4 not shiny 25ks...

These were initially sold for around $5 each, and could be made for less today.

How about the ridiculously priced 98 CDI set on eBay
Yeah, was talking about that on another thread, cray cray people out there. If someone snags that set for $3600 that is the high end of what I would pay. Only need 50 pink $5s too. If it had some $1Ks, it might be different story as I need 60 more then them and 16 $500s as well and I am done with mine set, unless I trip over some fracs.....lol

I know there’s a member @Howsey in the UK who has a medium set of those with fracs, 500s and 1ks. I just got some 05 25s from him.
