Hi,

I run a couple of tournaments and in 2 locations there is always a request to run a cash game (people KO'd early/midway then when tournie finished).
They usually play 50c/€1 usually straddle for €3. They use physical cash mainly. What I've been doing is using the tournament chips for cash value once tournament is over(50 chip 0.50c 100 chip €1 etc.) ..I know I know not great.

Just a bit of advice please. There will be never more than 1 table (9-10) that play cash. Game can get pretty loose. Generally players load up for €100-€200 each time. Most player will only rebuy twice max. Would probably need more lower denomination chips I would think.

Anyone any ideas on how many of each chip to buy etc? 50c/$1/$5/$25/$100

Any suggestions on what chips to go for? Mid range and durable, there'll be alot of beer etc spilled on these due to the clientele

For a cash set (US $), a very good set breakdown to start with would be 100/200/400/80/20 (800 chips) giving you a bank of $6,250. This is a PCF approved breakdown and is very flexible. The $5 would be your workhorse.

If you want durable, I’d check out the ceramic chips offered by @BR Pro Poker who is a vendor on this site. The Dia De Los Muertos and Tiki Kings are very popular. But there are also many many other types of chips to choose from depending on your tastes and budget (ceramics, plastics, clay, china clay, etc...).

I def think 400 fives is where you want to be.

Personally, unless you want the downward flexibility to spread 0.50-0.50 or you just feel strongly about having a 0.50 denom you could consider changing the stake to 1-1 and only get 1/5/25 chips.

600 chip set of 100/400/80/20 (1/5/25/100) yields a bank of 6100, you can let 100 euro notes play when the bank is exhausted. Players would average two full barrels of fives unless 9-handed.

If you want to include 0.50 chips and downward flexibility for 0.50-0.50 I would suggest 40/160/360/40 (0.50/1/5/25) doing a little more a the bottom end and again allowing 100 euro notes to play.

A full rack of halves is overkill, if you decide to get them 4 per player is enough. If you are considering 800 or 1000 chip breakdowns you can obviously go for more of everything.

Yeah the 50c are probably not necessary.

The 600 chip set of 100/400/80/20 (1/5/25/100) looks best.

Now to decide which chips to go for..

Yeah as long as you are sure 1-1 would be your bottom game that's a pretty good breakdown.

Now as for which chips, they are spinning up this group buy with @p5woody (who designed my customs using the same type of chips) that you should consider.

This is just one selection, there are lots of chips to explore. From approx most to least expensive: Casino clay (Paulson), custom compression clay (Classic Poker chips), Ceramic Hybrids (ceramic chips with a label recess, Sunfly, that's what the prestige group buy is), Ceramics (ABC Gifts, Sun-fly), China Clay (Milano, Majestic, vendor Apache poker chips has a lot of these and some of the other casino chips), ABS With mold (Gold Rush, Desert Heat, other Claysmith offerings, Apache has these too, as does Amazon), other ABS (Dice, suits sort of chips.)

Get samples, see what you like.

Short of getting samples, watching @Hobbyphilic 's youtube channel will give you a lot of ideas as well.

Good luck,
