I used the 50c in this set only bc it looked awesome. We needed it since I only had one rack of fracs
I have a thread where I chose each and every chip in real time. Changed my mind quite a few times. Check it out if you like!Love the 0.5/2/10/50 sets. Only ones I recognize are the Silver Sevens and Sams Town, What were the others originally?
I have been playing the set since this post and did end up going with the orange .50. We play .25/.50 up to $1/$2 blinds. Since the small throws in a .25 and the big an orange .50, it easy to see the blinds are in and the right person throws the right blind. Also keeps the pot from being overrun with quarters. If I do Another set it will be the same.Everyone has a different opinion but this is how I set up my Tiki’s. I went 25¢ and no 50¢. But I only got 100 of them. 200 dollars. 150 $5, 50 $10’s, 50 $20’s I like this chip because convenience on reloads as people carry $20 bills in their pockets, 25 $50’s and 25 $100’s only to complete my set of all the tikis and colorways. I just love the artwork and I am a collector. Had to have them all and full knowledge that the higher denoms won’t see much action.View attachment 1255033
I've played in the same .25/.50 game for 17 years. That game uses both small chips, just as you say here (against popular opinion). I've since gotten a new set of chips for another game and I used one "no value" chip in the set. The other chips are .50 and up. That way I can assign the value of the NV chip as .05, .25 or whatever value is needed. I love the flexibility possible from just one rack of NV chips.I have been playing the set since this post and did end up going with the orange .50. We play .25/.50 up to $1/$2 blinds. With .75 in the same color chip who through 2 and who through 1? No this is not hard to figure out, but as a dealer I glance at the pot, chips are usually closest to who through them and I deal. The game just moves faster and easier with the .50.Honestly I never thought about the easily being able to see if the blinds are good, seems pretty simple to add .25 + .50, lol. Either way it’s a personal decision, for me the .25 is all that’s needed and then that just to get the hand started, betting immediately jumps to the dollars and fives. 100 quarters works perfectly for 6-8 handed .25/.50.
What you really should be reading is that 25c and 50c chips don't need to be in the same set. You should probably be using one or the other depending on your blind structure. If you use quarters you can play 25c-25c or 25-50c blinds. If you use 50c then you can play 50c-50c blinds, or 50c-1 blinds. Both have pros and cons.I am building a set of Majestic CC for a cash game set. I read somewhere that .50 for cash games are useless since two .25 are the same, and usually .25 is a chip a cash set is going to have in good quantity. Likewise, tournament sets usually have $25 then $100 skipping $50 ok.
So the question is do you use .50 in low stakes cash games?
Guess I don't worry about the blinds that much. I don't even remind folks until the betting starts. With .75 in the same color chip who through 2 and who through 1? Sounds like we have similar games…I did go with the .50I just recently introduced a $.50 chip in my $0.25/$0.25 cash game. It just easier to count the 50 cent chips in the end. Each player gets 10 $.25 chips, 11 $.50 chips, 12 $1.00 and 1 $5.00 chip for $25.00. It gives each player a bit more starting Chips, and a bit less $1 Chips.
We play for 4.5 hours in a session. Top ups allowed when down to $5.00
Works for our games.
