I don’t think anyone ran a group buy specifically for them, but people have bought them as part of other group buys.
All the WSOP Rio chips I’ve ordered have been through irapley last two group buys. Also just want to say this FB marketplace listing is nothing to do with me!

Just to be clear, I was not inferring it had anything to do with you. I tagged you and the other person because your posts mentioned the chips, so I thought either of you might know who else ordered them.

@lrapley Do you recall if anyone by that name ordered WSOP tributes from you? Or anyone in Indianapolis?

I noticed they have one of the dealer buttons I had made in the case.
I will look through my records for the small group but I did. But right now the name doesn't sound familiar and I don’t think I sent any to Indianapolis.

Any idea on if there’s a way to pay extra for Tina to not recreate certain chips for others? I know I know, go through someone here if I want to be 100% sure. Just pondering a design that I might not want to be used elsewhere.

I'll be completely honest, I don't hate these as much as I thought I would. If I were to get a direct tribute set like the Crystal Park design, since I'd already be getting a replica design, I actually wouldn't be opposed to getting them on this RHC mold, hypothetically, just to go all-in on the tribute design. But it would be for my personal use only, and if I were to ever sell the set, I'd literally put a disclaimer that these are not the real things repeated on my sale post.

(I say hypothetically because I do have reservations about using an element that is actively being used on legit chips. I've designed pretty straight-forward tributes but they were casinos that were defunct, or chip designs that have bene obsolete for decades.)

I mean it looks great. Maybe to great though because I can see these being passed off as RHC chips to unsuspecting hobbyists.

This is what I was thinking about yesterday when I originally saw them. Of course we might be able to tell, but then you have someone online who doesn't know what they have, they list the chips online and from the picture you might not be able to tell. They pay ~.40 cents per chip and flip them for $3 per chip... Someone gets them and knows what happened, then there's going to be an issue.

Of course the one think that you might be able to tell the difference between real and fake would be the printing quality, but from pictures it can be hard at times to tell what is real or not. You'd have to have a real close up to tell the difference.
