Cards Mold/"Tina" Alibaba Ceramics Master Consolidated Info Thread (3 Viewers)

I guess it’s down to how you’d interpret being “knocked off”.. some say imitation is the highest form of flattery .. After-all, this is a “TINA ceramic” thread where people buy knock off OR homage chips - and here you are.
If I’m not mistaken, the design of every chip in the TP set is inspired by existing chips from other sets. If chips are popular enough they’ll be knocked off here in this thread.

That being said, I respect the PCF community and wouldn’t want to ruffle the feathers of other members like yourself so I won’t personally be knocking them off - although, I’m sure that others will..

From my point of view - the massive difference in quality and price point means that any knock off ceramic chips don’t pose a threat to the real thing ..
I'll repost what I said a few posts up this page. I think it bears repeating.
It's pointless. You can't duplicate those colors on a ceramic chip. We've all tried to do blaze orange and Arc Yellow and all the CPC Dayglow colors to varying degrees of success, or mostly failure. If you want, pick 6 or 7 of your favorite of the Tiger chips and "attempt" to duplicate the colors and spots, then put your personal design in the inlay area. But they still won't be Tigers (or lions... or cheetahs...) or even look a lot like them. Not even close. So why bother?
So if someone wants to create a "Lion's Den" or "Panther Pit" chip set, while trying to duplicate Tiger spots and colors, then go for it. I suspect you will be disappointed.

Here I am- in a thread talking about ceramic chips from Tina. Mine are fully custom and still from her. Not sure if you got your feelings hurt that I said the creator wouldnt be flattered, he expressly said he wouldnt like that. Maybe you know him better than himself, real Dr. Phil moment lol.

I dont care if you ruffle feathers, I was answering your question. Im fine with all the chips being made, I dont have any qualms about the casino chips as long as theyre not counterfeiting. You say that if they're popular enough they'll be knocked off here in this thread? Good luck, we'll see. But again: @JeepologyOffroad being flattered that someone would create a Tina copy is laughable. This isnt about being a threat, this is about respecting the wishes of a community member.

Good, thanks for your point of view and ellipses.
Absolutely not flattered, laughable. Nope, expressly forbidden by creator and it would be a big insult.

Feelings aren't hurt.

Honestly, I was responding to you because I was trying to understand why you felt so strongly about the question I raised in the first place .. I still don't get how it's "laughable" or a "big insult" or even how an inlay design being copied can be "expressly forbidden" as you put it.. I think discouraged/not appreciated would've been a better way to put it.

For what it's worth I respect the wishes of the original designer - which I hadn't been aware of before I posed the question. But ya, I'm not a huge fan of the way you've tried to insult me - there's really no need for the tone that you've chosen as I wasn't being facetious - hopefully you realize that this isn't a very serious matter at the end of the day - it's poker chip design.

Moving on...

Yeah, very cool!

I think the TINA ceramics do a nice job on sets like BIG TOP and SB which have pretty bright colors - would love to see an homage to the TP with another inlay like you've suggeted. Could be cool and would be nice for those of us not looking to drop tens of thousands on poker chips any day soon.

Hey,
im about to order ~800 Chips from TINA --> lets say i need 200x $1: How many more should i order to avoid Spinner-Problems?

So 1 out of 10 is a Spinner?
Since you can't order less extras than the minimum 25, I think he's saying that'll be plenty to swap out any spinners for your 200x $1 chips, not that you need all 25 extras to cover your amount for spinners.

The minimum 25 extra is probably fine to cover 3 or 4 racks of a denom, I'd think. I haven't seen much spinners in my cards mold set personally.

Nope

Yup

I don't understand why 25 as a minimum is being quoted here for extras - I can order as many as I deem fit as long as the total (for each denom) is >=25. I could order 50 chips and 3 extra if I wanted to.

(I ordered 15 extra of each of mine, for sanple sets)

Sorry, most of us order through group buys and most group buy organizers request/require buying in increments of 25 so they don’t have to break the pre-shrink wrapped rolls.

If someone’s ordering individually then I guess that restriction doesn’t necessarily apply.

Good point - forgot about that. I ordered myself so I overlooked possible GB restrictions if they apply.

Hi, I'd like to know how they stack after some wear on them. Did they become too slick?

I just received my ARIA Card Mold samples.... Wow!!! Now I know what all of the excitement is about. Bright colors, great quality, great sound, and they stack like bricks! And they are customizable for $0.35 a chip? Amazing.

Do they still stack well after they’ve been used a lot?

Your milage may vary.
Mine are good. The original sets were slicker. But nothing has degraded for me.

So they’ve become more slippery over time?

Do you also have the no mold (textured finish)? How do they compare to the card mold?

I have about 50 hours of play on my CM set I got last year. No issues so far - still stack like bricks and no spinners. I've got a small set of textured no molds on the way. Curious to see how they feel and hold up.

Could you please keep me updated? I’m deciding between card mold and no mold. Thank you very much

Mmm, me and the boys will do 50 hours in less than a month. So i need some long lasting and durable chips that don’t become too slippery. But usually we don’t stack more than 20 chips

Hello, I'll need to make 1 (or 2 with a secondary) ceramic set with custom design (may be based on some PCF designers work/help).
I don't want to wait for a future GB where I can add my set (and It should be ship in Europe).

I'm considering doing the sets (around 8.000/10.000 chips total) in china @tina or an @equivalent, but it seems impossible to find contact information on PCF.
Any help/tip/contact/advice welcome.
MP if this info should not be public.

Thanks in advance.

If you're ordering ~10k chips then going via a group buy wouldn't save you that much anyway and going direct is certainly what I would do in your situation.

Tinas info is on here openly somewhere in the form of their alibaba store link but I would strongly advise, as you say you are also looking for one, to choose a designer who already has an established relationship with her and will help make the whole process as simple as possible. @mattross1313 helped me with my design, the initial contact with Tina and the final confirmation/ordering - made the whole process pretty much stress free.

I have no hesitation recommending Matt but there are others on PCF who can help. You need to reach out to them to get the ball rolling though.

Good luck - looking forward to seeing this monster size set progress.

Could anyone PM me or detail the process if one want to get custom card molds? What's the pricing like if you order say 1500 chips?

Might be questions that have already been answered but since I won't wait for a group buy I'd like so input on what it's like running a solo order from "Tina" before I decide to hire a designer.

Message me I'll send you the link then you can ask my chip wife Tina

Hello, I hired a company in Brazil to manufacture my custom ceramic chips. But I didn't like the design they proposed and there is a possibility that I can send my own design in vector (Adobe Illustrator).

In this sense, I would like to know if any design could send me a ready-made design template by DM. I don't want anything too personalized. I can pay.

I'm very interested in @Kid_Eastwood's and other designs of this topic, but I can't send a private message yet.

Some of mine here.
I've others that I've not published in this thread.

Your work is amazing. I don't like these modern chips, so I loved their tributes. How can I contact you to receive one of these templates in vector files and also to be able to reward you?If you have a template similar to Casino Royale or Ascona that you can share, I'm also interested.
