Can anyone harvest some Strats? (1 Viewer)

I have a guy that got me a rack of ones, should be here Saturday. He said there were none in the poker room yet. He had a hard time getting a whole rack but is going to try and go back and get some more when they hit the poker room.

Damn you're lucky. I'd love a rack if you're looking to sell or he can get some more. Will pay a very handsome tip ;)

Interested in a rack or a bit more as well, once they hit the poker room and are easier to acquire in quantity.

The strat has always been a bitch to harvest from, maybe even worse than Paris. Never played poker there but the cage will only give a few at a time, been up there on the the last 3 trips to Vegas.....plus its all the way at the end of the strip. I do however reccomend going up in the tower for a drink and views of the city and strip. Well worth the money

Now in hand and they are great!!

I am in Las Vegas and if anyone does want something in particular... Let me know by sending me a DM. The one thing to keep in mind with buying live chips is that sure the face value of a chip is say $1, but the gas, parking, time, eBay Fees, Paypal Fees, etc... has to be figured in for all this. Parking is NOT cheap here in certain casinos. The Wynn is free along with the Venetian, but all MGM and most of Caesar's properties have a pretty healthy charge to park if you are there longer than an hour.

This is why people will still sell a single $1 chip for $4.99 to make it even worth their while. Packing, shipping and going to and from the post office costs a little too. I used to think it was high until I started getting chips myself. This could also put the buyer in a spot with the casino because taking home a few $1 and $5 chips they do not care much about, but try walking out with a rack of chips and it could cause you problems. I know a guy that got stopped for it and ID'd for doing it. So I would imagine if he keeps it up he could get 86'd. It is possible, but I do not know how likely. This could be seen as a potential security issue.

I was told by a lady at the Rio cage during the WSOP tournament that taking chips from the casino cage for the purpose of collecting is against the NGC rules (I did not look this up and don't really care to, but this was said to me once when I got a few of the WSOP chips for the 50th year anniverasary). She basically said that the chips you get from the cage have to be used to play. So I said ok and got some chips to play and sat and played. problem solved.

Dont get me wrong, most people at the cage do not care and are cool doing this. Sometimes if they are real cool and if it is possible, they will give you a mint chip in the back, but don't count on it. Some casinos you can buy at the cage and others you can only buy chips at the tables themselves. It is not as uniform of a process as you might think. I have chips from literally every casino on the strip and from downtown as well. I walked into each casino and got a few for me mostly without hassle, but these were just getting the $1 and the $5 chips (1 of each denomination).

So if anyone is looking for something specific and respects my time and effort will pay the proper reasonable premium I will see what I can do for you.

Appreciate the time and effort and offer to harvest chips but you might want to talk to @Tommy abour becoming a site vendor if that’s your main goal here.

I really dont have any interest at all in becoming a vendor here or anywhere else.

I am sometimes in the area and if someone needs something and I can get it I might be able to help. If someone wanted to buy 20 $1 chips I might be able to get them for $2.50 per chip or something like that. For a single chips it really is not something I care to put in the effort for unless it is for more of a mark up. Once you run around to get them and go through the motions you will see why there is the mark up like this. Either people will buy them if they want them or they wont. The nice thing is if someone does not buy them we can just cash them in and simply get our money back. The risk comes in on the obsolete chips because you ONLY have the option to sell them and not cash them in.

As for Saoliver and Perthmike Laughing at my post they are more than welcome to fly out here and get them in person. I am not begging anyone to do business I was simply offering to discuss a price that would make it worthwhile for me to drive around and make a trip for them. No need to be rude about it. I highly doubt you would be doing it for free.

Welcome to the forum. It was just a very amusing first post. I don’t begrudge anyone making a few bucks selling chips. Just an interesting first post. That is all.

Same as @Saoliver it was more that it was your first post, seeking to drum up business rather than saying hello.

And as for harvesting, I do appreciate that it takes time. I sold one rack for cost, harvested another for a member for cost, but admittedly I did sell another for profit

A number of us lost some money to a scammer on the forum that disappeared without harvesting what was promised and paid for, so you will have to forgive us for being weary.

Maybe hang around for a bit and try to sell stuff once you have paid for it and harvested yourself, at least until you've built a bit if a rep for being trustworthy. I'd recommend you target Paris because those are the most in demand live $1s

If this is the way you’re going about it please keep it off my thread. I’ve harvested over 5,000 chips from casinos and never felt the need to bring up all the aspects of harvesting and asking for PM offers only. If you’d like to sell chips for your time and a profit that’s fine but please post your sales/offerings in the classifieds.

I know @ReallyGoodUsername has harvested at face value or charged extremely minimal cost for harvesting. There are other members that do it too. Quite the first post, @Se7enCardStud.

Then he is very generous with his time and effort and kudos to him for it. Had we done business before and he hooked me up I would have been more than happy to return the favor.

Biggest difference is that most people view the folks here as friends, not as customers.....and those who do view us as customers become site vendors.
I can see your point and I do respect it as well. I actually came on this site to buy a few chips. Guess what? I fully expected to pay above what the person purchased it for. I fully expected them to make a profit from me. I just happened to see the Strat thread on the front page and clicked on it before I went to see the listings.

To be fair, since we do not know each other yet or have not built any relationship on that level it is a business thing for me. I have hooked up people many times and not just in poker chips. Many of them for no profit at all or even as gifts with no charge. These are things you do build up with people over time. In this case I just happened to see a post and I thought I might be able to help out, but it does cost me a bit out of pocket to do and that was all I was saying.

So if you guys on here do hook each other up and have become good friends, that is great and I am happy for you (that is not sarcasm either). Maybe we could have done the same, but it sure as hell will not happen by flaming people instead of simply saying what you said. Thank you for the perspective BGinGA. I do appreciate it.

Well that helps to put it in perspective. Sorry that some of you guys got scammed. That does suck.

The funny thing is when I first signed up to the forum I went to the "introduce yourself" thread it would not allow me to post there. I was going to post my first post on why I picked my name. I went through the first page and it would not let me post. Then I went to the 17th page and it would not let me post. Finally I gave up on that. So I was going to look to buy some chips and see if anyone was selling what I was wanting.

Then before I clicked on that I saw some one wanting Strat chips and since I just picked up a few I was like "I might be out there again in the next week or so" I will see what someone was going to pay for them.

I wrote some of the back story on there because of the run in I had with the Rio and from a story I heard from a guy that got a rack out of the Strat recently. I dont know if they are cracking down on this, but I can assure you casinos dont want racks of $1 chips getting out of the casino because that is almost at cost. The blacks, purple and yellows you can take all you want I am sure. Being that they will be making a killing off of you then.

I am sorry that some of you got scammed and that sucks. I may have been new to this forum, but I am not new to the chip world. Best of luck to you all and I hope no one scams any of you again.

Very nice collection by the way. I love the Harrah's and the Mandalay Bay the most of the current chips on the strip.
