Calling Computer Specialists: Need a new laptop, how does this HP one look? (1 Viewer)

I love my Dell XPS.

My wife had a Yoga for a few years but the battery ballooned up and it never really worked well after I replaced it.

Edit - replaced hers with another Dell XPS.
Good to know about the Yoga. Dell has been pretty good for me over the years as well, but it's been the Inspiron line. So far my wife has been happy with them.

I think the Inspiron 14 inch 2 in 1 is the early favorite. It's right up against my budget, and with taxes and the protection plans, I'm going to go over by about $100. Putting an i7 Intel processor on any HP pavilion or Spectre line puts the price well above my budget.

And yes, the one Dell I got I was happy with. An old Latitude line survived four years of college for me, which was a huge feat.

Don't get me wrong, the Yoga was fantastic for ~4 years. No idea what caused the battery to balloon - but when it did, that was the end of that.

These are my personal recommendations for what you're looking for. Plus there is a sale on right now. Lenovos are always excellent mix of performance/work and lesiure/play.

Around $600 - Best overall

Lenovo is so underrated, I find that they typically seem to have better quality, but at these prices, quality is going to be capped for all competitors.

I'd by a high end tablet for surfing, just more mobile, and you can pick up a keyboard if you want a more laptop feel.
