Hi, I'm hoping someone out there is looking to offload a set of Bud Jones V7's for my first cash game set. Particularly interested in the following sets,

Southern Elegance
Praga
Legends
Dodge City
Wyndham OSJ
Mirage Springs

I'm looking for 600-1000 chips and while I will give a mixed set some consideration, I'd prefer a set from the one casino.

For those that are reluctant to ship to Australia, I can arrange to have the package forwarded from CA or NV through Shipito.

Please don't hesitate to offer any amount of chips, as I might decide to get two sets.

Yeah, it it super tough to find. A set comes available every 2 years or so. There were the Dodge City's, Mirage Springs, Maxamillion, Casino at Sea, and most recently the Legends. I can't recall anything else off the top of my head (other than a few CIC sets as well) in the last 10 - 15 years.

Great.....:(. I thought it would be pretty straight forward. Well, I guess I shouldn't get my hopes up then.

Ohhh! Southern Elegance and the Wyndham Old San Juan's also hit the market a while back. I forgot about those... there are probably others, but the point is they seem to be relatively rare. The plus side is that many chippers don't like them so the competition is not that great. Don't give up the search though, they really are awesome chips and the fun is in the hunt!

Also something else to give you hope, the people who bought the Legends and are selling them, seem to be going contrary to every other thing chipping related and letting them go for close to what they paid for them. So keep an eye out, but you will have to be quick if a set comes up for sale!
 
Dont be shy to offer any reasonable amount of BJ V7s.
Looks like I might have to build a set.

Thanks for the reply Josh. I assume you're referring to the "The Grove" cash set. I've been watching that thread and if they were V7s, they would be on my table right now. Just not a fan of CIC chips but if i get desperate, who knows.
 
Wasn’t there a mess of v7 just released into the wild by GOCC? (heart Tater). I seem to recall thinking they looked fantastic.
 
Yes there was, but unfortunately I found this forum 4 months too late :(.
Its depressing looking through old posts and seeing what you missed out on.
I'm hoping some of them will be set free again.
 
You have handled V7's before, right? I assume you have, because you've requested them specifically. But they have some pretty unique handling characteristics, compared to most chips discussed on this site. So, public service message, I guess, but nobody should buy V7's without stacking and shuffling some samples first.

Yeah, I've played the vast majority of my poker in the local casino with V7 chips. Sometimes you might pick up an extra chip due to the suction but you learn to be more careful.
There were no Paulsons at the 3 casinos I've played at in Australia so I associate BJ chips with that real casino experience.
 
If your willing to go with a mixed set you'll be able to find them faster but full sets from the same casino are a little rarer. Wish I could say more than just be patient and some will come up. And take heart in the fact that when they do you won't be paying $3-$4/chip for them like other types of chips.

There are some BJ naysayers out there but there are quite a few of us that appreciate the fact that all types of chips can have their merits. ;)

Still looking for that Xmas gift to give myself. Anyone needing some extra cash for Xmas, let go of those unused Bud Jones sets.
 
Yeah I've spoken about that set before. It just doesn't suit my needs.
If I lived in the US I'd buy it, knowing I can easily re-sell the unwanted chips. Just too difficult from where I am.
 
I really want to hear from any BJ V7 owners out there.

The longer it takes me to find a set, the less funds I have available, as I seem to be "wasting" it on Paulsons ;).

Strike while the iron's hot !
