I'm going to try to repurpose my BCC CDI chips for a microstakes game tonight. I would much rather play minimum 25c/25c or 25c/50c but this is what this group does . . . so at least I want some nice chips to increase my happiness EV.

Six players, $10-$30 buy-ins. I've never played in this game so I'm not sure how much bank I'll need in the end. What I have are

227 x T5
202 x T25
218 x T100
50 x T500
39 x T1000

so I'm guessing I can just divide the denominations by 100 and have nickels as the lowest denomination. Surely won't need the T1000 chips. Without those that is 17-ish max buyins. If that isn't enough I suppose the T1000s can come to the rescue (13 more buyins).

Starting stacks? @links_slayer I noticed you mentioned running a 10c/25c game with nickels in another thread . . .

Edit: well . . . turns out they use white/red/green/black for .10/.25/1/5 and switching to nickels and different colors is going to confuse the heck out of everyone :-( Still interested in the answers, though.

I think your breakdown is fine, I would only put out 100 nickels per table (maybe even fewer).

The problem with using dimes is you can't break a single quarter, they have to break two quarters to get change.

Starting stacks of 10 nickels + 18 quarters + x singles to make the right buy in seems okay.
