Hello All,

Quick question. I am creating a tournament set for 10 players. It’s a Pharaoh/2005 CDI mix. So all the chips look similar when stacked. I am thinking of getting Blue NCV pharoah Chips that are on eBay right now [Or if anyone has any for sale one here’s;)], and using these as the 5K Chip for my T10,000 starting stacks, for color ups and re buys. Would just give two blue chips.

Here are my starting stacks. T10,000
12/12/7/5.

Would this creat a lot of confusion, or any problems?

Any recommendations?

Thanks all!

Using small numbers of no-denom chips as T5000s should be fine.

But I'd urge you to not include a T5000 chip in a T10k starting stack. You won't have enough T1000 chips in play by the time they become the workhorse chip.

And 12/12/5/6 is a slighty better starting stack breakdown, for similar reasons (plus you don't need as many T500 chips in play as T1000s).

I typically use T1000 chips for color-ups of T25 and T100 chips, and T5000 chips for re-buys and color-ups of T500 chips. That gets an adequate number of each on the table by the time they are needed.

But then I can’t have 3 stacks of 12 with the 12/12/7/5 :( ! Lol JK

I’ll try your recommended stack. I won’t have any T5000 starting stacks. It’ll be 25, 100, 500, and 1000.

lol, I faced that same OCD dilemma early-on.

I fixed it by either bumping stacks up to T15k (adding a T5000), or by adding either a bounty chip or a re-buy chip to the starting stack. All create three equal stacks of 12 chips. ;)

That’s a good idea actually!

I need to find bounty chips.

Anyone have a recommendation bounty chips for the 2005 CDI chips?

Thanks boss,

@ABC Gifts and Awards sells several different 39mm ceramic bounty chip styles that are generic in nature and can complement different chip sets.

Alternately, you can get some Pharaoh or CDI white $1 or red $5 chips and re-label those.

That's what I have done already (intending Blue NCVs as 5K - not in 10K starting stacks, but for rebuys / add-ons only).
Actually, with an equal number of red 5s, you could use these as 5K and the Blue NCVs as 10K or 25K, for abysmally deep stacks / structures, guaranteeing poker marathons till the end of time, if desired - or enabling you to have a T100-base tourney, instead of T25.

Exactly. These BLue NCV Chips would not be in my starting stack. Only 25/100/500/1000.
I would use the NCV as 5K chips for re buys, and color ups. I have 40 of them now, so I think that should be enough for 10 people and a few rebuys buys.

Good idea with the Rec $5 chip as the 5K Chip. I’ll look into that!

Thanks,
