Anyone else get this email? Looks like the Blind Valet founder is back to working full time on the app.
A Personal Update from Blind Valet's Founder
Hey everyone,
After 5 years, I'm back working on Blind Valet full-time.
I owe you some context. In early 2020 In early 2020, I was working on Blind Valet within a startup studio (Imagination Machine) here in Nantes, France. When COVID hit and live poker stopped overnight, I had to pivot - my team and I started doing development work for other startups in the portfolio to keep the lights on.
Then in October 2021, I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. For the better part of a year I went through aggressive chemo treatments, surgery and more chemo. Throughout this period, Imagination Machine kept giving my team development work so I could continue billing them, and it saved my company. During this time, Blind Valet kept running, and you all kept using it - even without regular updates. That loyalty meant everything.
A year later, I was in remission and took a full-time position as Operating Partner at Imagination Machine with a 3 year commitment. In May this year I celebrated
3 years of remission and July 1st I ended my work with Imagination Machine and am back to full-time on Blind Valet.
I have big plans for Blind Valet in the next 12 months, and I will be reaching out soon to the community for input on the future versions of Blind Valet.
A few points to mention:
I had an issue with my support system in June, I may have missed your support request. If this is the case, please reach out again, and I will try and respond as soon as possible.
Monday (July 21st) at 2PM CEST, 8AM EST I will be doing a dev/support stream on Twitch. Stop by with your questions, or just to say hi. I'll try and start doing these more regularly and in different time slots so it is available to everyone.
I'm doing a little roadtrip in the southeast USA from July 28th-Aug 1st. Going from West Palm Beach, FL through Atlanta, GA, and on to Raleigh, NC area. If you are on the route and hosting a tournament or want to have a meetup to discuss Blind Valet over a beer, let me know!
Fun Fact:
I just looked it up, and the first version of Blind Valet was published in November of 2007!
