Any suggestions on how to clean chips like these?

Hi AK Chip,

I also ask myself the same question. I have a 800 chips set, which I do not use, having to clean it. Only, I know that B&G chips are more fragile than Bud Jones and Matsui ...

BIG INTEREST!!!

I'm assuming B&G chips are similar in materials to Bud Jones but I don't have any B&G's other than singles.

I've always just used Dawn & warm water with a good brush scrub for Bud Jones chips. They clean rather easily. Only issue I've ever run into with Bud Jones that I haven't been able to clean is staining, especially on lighter colored chips, which I believe is a probably a product of exposure to UV/sunlight.

I'm not sure what an ultrasonic would do to a plastic chips (probably safe but I would defer to someone that has done it) as I've never tried it with any plastic chips.

If I was going to relabel the chips I would try the ultra sonic but I’m nervous about submerging the stickers under water. I’ll give the scrub brush and magic eraser a try with an oxy dish soap solution.

What I'm sure of that you have to avoid any hard mechanical action. Unlike the highly resilient Bud Jones chips, B&G chips are fragile. While doing tests, I noticed that the chips could be altered with cleaning.

Too much cleaning could aggravate damages already present (not my chips):

@AK Chip So is the dirt buildup around the label/sticker edges? This is where buildup is usually concentrated on Bud Jones. Gentle hand washing is usually all it takes to remove that.

That scratching & gouging on the rolling edge is scary. :jawdrop:

I haven't received the chips yet, just going off Stas saying they will need to be cleaned from casino use. I should have them in the next day or so.

I've cleaned Bud Jones (hot stamped) plastic in the ultrasonic before without any problems. Any reason to believe that these wouldn't fare as well?
I'm concerned the stickers/labels would get damaged?

After trying the magic eraser I would recommend not using this method. It seems to take the (shine?) off the chips.

The white chips seemed ok but the red and green had this effect.

Middle chips has been cleaned.
