Best Looking Current $5 Vegas Chips? (1 Viewer)

I'd like to get a rack of live Las Vegas $5's but am not familiar with what current in-circulation chips there are.

Please suggest what you think are the current best-looking Vegas $5's that can be found in good condition in quantity.

I hear it’s extremely tough to harvest from Circus Circus, but maybe they’ll ease up on you if you’re harvesting fives.

Golden Nugget:

I’m not 100% sure if these are live, but I believe someone recently harvested a few racks, so I think they are. They wouldn’t be in excellent condition, though.

That was me. These are still live.

Didn’t see any minty $5s on the floor but plenty that were decently sharp. And they clean up nicely:

I’d recommend the circus circus $5 if you want to go THC. I’d go Bally’s if you wanted house mold. Plenty of sharp chips from both casinos on the floor right now.

Paris has a decent THC $5 as well though I didn’t see many minty chips last trip. Here’s a few more to consider:

While the decor rings looks great these chips are super light and dont handle well. Prime card marker, nothing more.

There are still some textured inlays in there but most are beat. I brought one home that’s pretty sharp.

But I think the smooth inlays are still shaped. I guess I could be wrong, but I can feel a lip at the edge of the shape where the red and white meet. Here’s some zoomed in shots but I think it’s shaped — you can kinda see a little shadow at the ridge of the shape which is where I feel a lip.

I see this one is posted above in a big group shot, but had to add the stand-alonepast as this is easily my favorite current (and maybe even all-time) $5. Uncomplicated spots, simple but unmistakable inlay with tastefully executed color-matching and infinitely better in this version than the smaller inlay version.

This chip and it's cousins have served as inspiration for chips in a few of my custom sets, including one in production as I type this... and it's always nice to have a bunch of them in front of my when playing at the MGM!

+1 for Bally's $5.

For the harvesters, do the casinos care if you come in and harvest $5s? I know and have heard all of the stories about $1s, seemingly because the cash value for a $1 chip is close to the cost of the chip, but do they give you the same push back if you are willing to pay them $5 for something that costs them ~$1.
