I'm looking to play some 2/5 or 5/5 in LA. I'm wondering which LA casinos have the softest games around this stake with at least a 100 BB buy in? <3

I am a big fan of The Gardens in Hawaiian Gardens... mainly becasue I dont feel like I have lice when I leave.

...everytime I play @ Hollywood Park I feel like I have gotten scabies or something... lol.

Hollywood Park probably has the softest games. It also has a great mixed PLO game.
Hustler and Bicycle Club have the best buy in structure where you are 200bb deep.
5/5 buy in $300-$1000
Hustler is generally great action with splashy players and let's you do straddles and bomb pots.
Commerce just always has a lot of tables/going even @ 4am on a Tuesday night.
There will be at least 4 or 5 5/5 tables running which doesn't always happen @ the other casinos.

And I will concur that the action is good from what I hear about Hawaiian Gardens...I just haven't gone there yet.

I would say shoot for the Bike or Commerce. More solid players there.

After a few years of playing at The Gardens, I realized there is just too much shenanigans there. More solid games at the two I mentioned.

Curious as to what kind of shenanigans at the garden? I haven’t played there in years and used to prefer it over the bike. I’m halfway between both casinos. Home games have slowed down for the holidays and wanted to go back to a casino.

A few things from when I used to play there about 10 years ago:

Cash games - 1/1, 2/2, other smaller games were capped at 20BB buy-ins. Makes for a very tough go of things for a serious session. If you want to go get drunk and coin flip all night....The Gardens is the place.

Player quality - Alot of players are (and I am sure this is due to the BB limited on buyings) looking for a quick hit with any two cards. Many times waiting for some PaiGow to spots to open.

Safety - A few years back there was a ring of guys that were following people offsite after hitting table jackpots and robbing them in their driveways. This was happening consistently. Much better security at places like the Bike and Commerce in my experience.

Recently I was looking this up myself but for slightly lower stakes. If it's in any way helpful (re: 2-3). I too prefer at least 100BB buy ins.

The Bike offers that for 2-3 and is a nice venue overall (I've only been going in 2025. Heard it was bad a few years ago and invested in upgrades). They have a very popular 5-5 game, max $1k or $1500 buy in I think.

Hustler offers 2-3 100BB and is def grimy (equipment, chairs etc. are poor, chips are nasty).

Lucky Lady offers a couple interesting options but lacks for clientele as they mostly go to Hustler. I want to try LL one day because they offer 1-2 at 100BB and 2-3 for $500 max.

Those are all the local spots I know about. Games were soft at the first two IMO. I'd gladly play there while I'm building bankroll at 2-3. I'm equally far from Bike and Hustler but prefer Bike. It's really a traffic question.

Good call on the traffic - which makes it unfortunate for me being on OC that The Gardens is the closest at most times.

Get hammered and go start a fight in an O8 game at commerce!

I went and played LIMIT HOLD’EM (the real Cadillac of poker) at Bike, Commerce and HP while I was out there last year. Commerce is ELECTRIC, and a must visit if you’re from out of town. 8/16 is soft as hell, don’t bother with 4/8. I love it out there. If you like limit poker, gotta go play in LA.
