How do I tell Paulson diamond molds from cheap plastic diamond molds in a picture. I am looking at a group of chips about half of which are THC and the other half is diamond mold. I think they are likely Paulsons based on the back story but I don't know how to tell for sure. I don't see any injection spots and there is texture on the chip. See picture below. Thanks.

I'd be hesitant on these, my understanding is the paulson have a thinner rim AND the diamonds are thinner i.e pic below. Not an expert but those both still look a little wide.

are there more pictures? the injection pip could be on the other side. that looks like a super diamond to me.

paulsons look like the picture above.

I went ahead with the purchase because the price was decent just for the THC. They are definitely super diamonds. You can see the injection pip on closer examination. But it was good to learn about the difference in pattern for future reference. So thanks.

well what are the THCs??

I had a bunch at one point. A few hundred & donated to charity.
They honestly were not bad and did not feel like plastic.
Not smooth, good texture.
Though once in hand though you will know.

In a poor picture check the size of the diamond --it is more like a sideways square, not a diamond.

You can see injection point on this one best.

Some it is even more difficult, just looks like a little scuff.

other types are more obvious but the diamond here is better unlike the super diamond.

In general I like to look at the shape of the diamond first. Paulsons will never look like the diamond is a square turned 45 degrees:

While there are plastic chips that look like the Paulson diamond, I haven’t seen a Paulson clay with those “square” diamonds.
