In 2005 I bought a 1000-chip set of BCC "Modern Clay" chips from buypokerchips.com / Sidepot. I followed it up with 700 BCC "Inplay" chips in more tournament-oriented denominations. Having only ever played $2/4 limit or NL tournaments in casinos, I didn't know jack about what denominations to get, and as you might imagine I bought relatively unplayable sets. As a result, I didn't use the chips.

Fast forward to today, close to 20 years later. The chips I use for normal use are well-worn HSI chips from Apache plus some racks I got from the classifieds here about 4 years ago. They are fine. But I came back to this site to build a custom set and, for whatever reason, I reconnected with some of the Inplay and Modern Clay owners I had been speaking with a few years ago.

Long story short
- I tried to add to my Inplay set to make it playable but essentially no one would sell. As a result, I threw in the towel on that set and sold it to @kk405
- @Big Money had a large Modern Clay set and after some offers to trade to make each of our sets more playable, I ended up buying the whole thing

In the course of all this I managed to build a list of all the people who seem to own or have owned Modern Clay chips based on many searches (@Horac @Steppenwolf @Phish1321 @HO HO HO @TeddyKGB82 @yoogK @facinfears217 @darkskulls147 @dkq999 @Split @sir bluffs alot @stevea @DJ_Fett @Whip @Bighig @Pokeherbutt81 @kaimat @EmptyPocs).

Oh and also I had some specialty chips made to complement the set, which I posted about here: https://www.pokerchipforum.com/threads/custom-speciality-chips-from-aurora-poker-gear.123362/

So now I think the journey is complete, with 2,301 chips in total. There are a few lose ends, namely 39x $2 chips that make no sense unless I can add to them, 200 of the $1 and 100 of the 50c that are not "NM" condition, etc. And there are a few oddities, for example the color shade of 100 of the 25c chips is weirdly different than the shade of the rest of them, etc. But overall a great set and now despite the fact that I play with other chips and don't want to take from the "NM" status of this set, I will for sure put them into use at least a little bit.

Of course, a rabbit hole is a rabbit hole, so if anyone with these wants to trade denominations or sell, I can't say I won't listen................................

Beautiful chips! Unfortunately for BCC different shades of the same chips in a set was standard operating procedure!

Glad it went to someone who will love them. Hated to get rid of them, but like you said, hard to get matches to improve the set...

I have Modern Clays, looking to expand on the $500. Could discuss trade? (You are thin on the $25s?)
If you like to sell me 100x-300x $500 that would work as well?

Could be interesting. Actually my set has evolved since I took the pics - I did some trades to get rid of the $2 chips and get some more $100 and $500 among others. The total collection had grown from the 2,301 pictured above to 3,531 chips in total. I'll reconfirm all the denoms when I get home and DM you.

Nice set there, never had the opportunity to buy a set of these.

That's one problem with many of the BCC sets: I compare the quality to Paulson. Though sets on some of the molds are rare. I don't think this mold was used on any other set that I can remember. So unlike many other clay chips, you can't really build a mixed set. So if you end up with a few extra racks, you won't be able to use them unless you are willing to mix molds.
