It's mostly the old school chippers from blue boards that see these as grails. I still love them and wish the breakdown had higher denoms.....im still thinking about it.
Who has the other sets now? They've changed hands so many times
It seems like these older sets (pre mid 2010's) are light on the higher denoms. Do you think this is because T5 base tournaments were more popular and therefore 500's and 1000's were not needed as much?

Now that T25 base sets are most popular and now T100 base sets are gaining traction, these older sets are not suitable for the modern formats we see in most hoke tournaments today.

This set would be great for a T5 base!

These are poker boom era chips. Back in the day when we could play online, PStars ran T5 tournaments. Maybe casinos ran T5 because that is what was bringing people in the door? Just a guess, but makes sense to me.

Another thing I don't understand about all this T5 base hate. Don't players like to mix things up? We have people on this site who swear by circus games because they are tired of the same old thing. T5 is a good way to change things up a bit if your group like tourneys. It's still hold 'em, but why have multiple sets of the same breakdown?

Not all do. Some of my players get confused switching from Vegas to Cali :(

I think those tend to be 2 different groups.

I swear by changing things up a bit and getting circus fun games going, but the last Tourney I played was a neighborhood game in 2018ish, and before that 2015ish (and before that high school). I don't know if many of the Tourney playing crowd are a mix it up kinda crowd.

Unless I'm missing something, the breakdown looks good as-is for a single table 5/10 cash (just a little heavy on the T5 denom) or a 2-table T5 tourney with a modern BBA. 3-table T5 no-ante tournament is possible, but a little tight.

With the action in that game I'll play with dice chips and be quiet about it.
Good to know, I wanted to play with my Flamingo set sometime but was concerned you would complain about having to play with solids :)

I'm getting closer to talking myself into this set as a cash set, but I'm out of space and would need to sell a set first

GOOOODAMNIT SOMEONE BUY THIS.

Just out of idle curiosity - someone give me a 5-6 hour tourney structure using this set for 25 people.

1k starting stack
10/10/6/2
22 minute levels/break every 4 levels
If I did the math correctly would have to use one of your hundreds coloring up the 25s and 6 1ks coloring up the hundreds. Leaves 24 1ks for rebuys.

It would be great to see this set combined with one of the others out there (possibly one that has more high denom?). It would be amazing!

Where are the other set owners? Seems like a cost effective addon and you could always cost average (the kiss of death for my wallet I often use to justify buying more chips in the secondary market post TCR sales).

Glws!

Goddamnit this motherf$cker I’ve wanted this for a lonnnnng time. I’m struggling with holding off on these.
Love you man but I love all people and often like things. They are just clay gaming tokens. Might consider therapy and some Saturdays at Church. It worked for me.

I'm thinking about grabbing them for my 5¢/10¢ game. Hmmm...

 :ROFLMAO:

How’s the action there? Do they play anything other than holdem?

Semi-related but if you 3-barrel bluff a priest do they just express ticket you to hell or is there an interim stop at Purgatory first?

Bump for some crazy beautiful chips!

Pretty sure I had FROR on these.. oh well.
Always the drama with this one lol
Well I had avoided addressing this publicly as to not derail the sale thread, but I'll respond to this here once.
For those interested I'm happy to discuss and recount the details of exactly what went down with Ryan and I. Feel free to pm me as several members already have. I'm just not the air out your dirty laundry in public type of guy, but there's nothing to hide

Now back to the sale :)
