Sold Auction: BCC Grand Cardroom (GCR) Tourney Set (625 Chips) (2 Viewers)

I never thought this day would come.
Up for auction is a 625-chip set of the very rare BCC Grand Cardroom (GCR) hotstamped chips with a slightly tweaked version of the sensational @bluesman250 spot patterns and colors. These came from what was probably the last GB ever by the now GPI-owned and closed Blue Chip Company. Plenty of info about these here on PCF and elsewhere in the chip forum world.

I think the GCRs need no introduction, but as you can see, the colors are vivid and sensational, and the spots are magnificent. Bluesman's design simply hit it out of the park, and you'll be hard-pressed to find another spotted custom set this extraordinary.

Breakdown:

140 x T25
140 x T100
100 x T500
120 x T1,000
100 x T5,000
25 x T25,000

Chips are in as new condition and I've never used them. (I've never even taken the entire set out of the racks let alone oiled them.) Edges are razor sharp, and chips are for all intents and purposes, as new. Clamshell racks included, as pictured.

Over the years, I have received many PMs and posts about these chips, and many, many offers. Given their rarity and desirability, I've decided to auction them to give all a shot at them.

Bidding starts at $800. Shipping will be added to the final auction price (shipping will reflect USPS flat rate priority box and will include signature requirement and insurance). Payment via Paypal; buyer pays all Paypal fees.

This auction is going to run with my version of @72o's rules.

Rules:

- All bids are to be placed openly in this thread (no PM bids allowed).
- Bid is for entire set.
- Bids in minimum increments of $10.
- Edited bid posts will be voided.
- No shipping to P.O. boxes.
- International PCF'ers are welcome to bid (a) as long as you are a current PCF member as of the start time with at least 15 posts (or if not, otherwise seek my approval) and (b) you pick up all applicable shipping/handling costs & fees.
- Auction closes Tuesday, March 15th at 4:00pm EDT (note that daylight savings starts this weekend) and incorporates the "5 minutes after last closing bid rule". Highest bid before 4pm will win the auction unless there is a bid within 5 minutes of closing time. Then the closing time will be 5 min. after that last bid was posted. For example, if someone bids at 3:55pm on next Tuesday and no one bids after, then the auction ends at 4:00pm. Done! If there is a bid at 3:58pm, then that bid is good until 4:03. And more bids can ensue until 5 minutes time has passed without a bid. This eliminates last second sniping.
- I reserve the right to change the rules at any time,
but will do so with the intent of running a fair auction.
- For the same reason, I also reserve the right to cancel the auction at any time and/or void any/all bids.
-
Tommy and PCF are in no way responsible for any actions in this auction.

Thanks, and good luck! Feel free to ask me any questions.

If you bid now your bid is highly unlikely to stand so you can at least have the satisfaction of knowing you tried!

I will take your advice.

$1150

Edit: the price jumped faster than I could type.

Lol at the number of bids that aren't valid because people didn't read the rules
I wish I could afford to bid on this set. It would be a nice expansion to my heads up set :D

I presume you're referring to minimum bid increment of $10? So long as the bid is at least $10 more than the prior bid, the bidder can make the number whatever they chose.

Probably best bcc chips produced ever.

^ This is highly debatable..... they produced some seriously awesome sets, several of which are in the Hall of Fame. I'd agree that they are probably the best bcc hot-stamped chips produced ever, but even that would likely spark some legitimate argument. @jbutler should set his "thread wars" sights on this topic sometime in the future.

In reality, the gopherbluesman chips are likely to be #1 on some people's ''best-of-bcc" list, and not even in the top ten list of others.

Would love to do the GOAT BCC challenge.

Unfortunately, the best of custom chips threads and the ultimate contest got several people legitimately butt hurt when I did them over on CT. As much as I personally would laugh in anyone's face if they tried to tell me it hurt their feelings that their set wasn't nominated or didn't win or do whatever they think it deserves, I don't want to do anything that causes people to leave PCF even if their reasons are lolworthy.

Ive been wanting to add to mine but hundo and 500 are darker then mine.:(
But the real reason is i cant afford them:sick: i wish i had bought more...

Well, then just do a 'nomination' thread where everybody gets to post pics of their favorite BCC set(s). No voting, no butt-hurt puppies, just a bunch of awesome pr0n. :)

Oh, and $1350.

Personally, I LOVE the Riverboat BCC web molds. Definitely my favorite of the BCC sets I've seen. I haven't posted pics yet, but I got about 2,000 chips in last month. Both the tourney set and cash set. Fantastic chips. Really sucks that they sold out to Paulson.

I meant hotstamped and spotted BCC set

Actually, I would like to see a few people leave...just the ones who bid against me for chips...

As I remember these when they were mine I remember the smell being very very close to that new Paulson smell. Much more so than with BCC chips from their early days. The colors are so stunning no one even mentions the GCR Stamp, GOAT stamp in my opinion. These chips are among the best tourney chips ever. Good Luck All
