Aria tribute vs Royal (1 Viewer)

Hi I was just wondering if any has any insight on the Aria tribute chips from Tina ( ceramic?) and the Royal chips(china clay) from Apache? I saw the group buy for 43mm arias that was happening and wondering if I might want to jump on board. I’ve got a sample set of royals and they seem pretty good but just wanted to see if others have thoughts surrounding the two chips

It's really a matter of opinion. Both are nice options. I prefer the look of the Aria. Though some frown on them being counterfeit. One supports a communist company, the other at least partially supports a chip vendor in NV.

I would get samples and decide for yourself.

I personally prefer Tina’s ceramics over China clays by quite a bit. Honestly I think if I had come across those first I probably wouldn’t have moved on to Paulsons and TRKs and CPCs.

Yes, if you’re soliciting opinions, I’m all opposed to the unauthorized Aria copies, coming straight in from China.

But if you’re looking for useful advice, it’s this - if you just like flashy looking chips, pick the ones that look flashiest to you. If, however, you’re interested in other characteristics of chips, like how they sound and how they feel, you really should get samples. Because these are two very different kinds of chips - the Aria knockoffs are ceramics, which, though technically made from polyester, feel and sound more like ceramic, and there are a buttload of casinos, both in America and abroad, that use this exact material for their chips. The Royals are called China Clays - they’re also made from plastic but their goal is to look and feel more like the clay chips you’ll also find in American casinos. Some people think they are a good imitation.
You really need to decide for yourself.
Or just buy the ones that look nice - from all reports, both chips function well.

They’re decent chips. You used to have to pay a lot more (like twice as much) for nice, flat ceramics.

Just saying, many of my non chipper friends prefer card Mold ceramic over Clay chip

I personally like all chips with some minor preference over other

Yeah, I mean they would have been “good enough” to make me content probably. Bright colors, fully customizable, cheap, and good feel. Some of my players prefer these over the my Paulsons and CPCs.

That being said I am happy with my CPCs now and are sticking to them.

I have ceramics from brpropoker and Apache China clay and you can’t go wrong with both. For me , we eat and play and the ceramics are great cus I can just wash them after

Honestly, I'd recommend reaching out to Tina and ordering directly from them. I recently placed a pretty large order of 2200 Aria's, cash and tourney set, with a mix of 39mm and 43mm for larger denoms. Should be about a 4-6 week turnaround time, shipped by air, for around $0.47/chip average (including the 43mm and shipping). Not much more than the group buy pricing, not to mention not having to wait months, and pay for reshipping as well. For me it was a no-brainer.
