Looking to purchase an Aransas cash set. No specifics, with or without fracs, any of the $1 variants, etc.
Edit for background: I never in chipping could understand why anyone enjoys any specific set of chips. My preference was to buy a chipset, table it, sell it to buy a new one, table it, sell it, etc.
As the losses piled up into the thousands from this, I tried to find a chipset I could pretend to care about.
Luckily, I did my first Vegas and WSOP trip and pulled off mint Paris set. Boom, emotional connection and forever set created.
Not too long after, the Adolfo trip where I got to meet him and said my goal would be to at some point own all his chips and have them in my poker room with his rule sheet, poker license, etc. Boom, emotional connection and forever set created.
I realized that I was lucky enough to have really great looking and available chip sets from each stop with my family. And so, I was able to come up with the chipsets that I could pretend were meaningful through a connection to our family, and create a tangible goal for retirement and quit chipping.
The Desired Keeper List:
Indiana - where we started, and the casino we had gone to: IGs
France - the only “stretch”, but pulls in France and LV: Live Paris
Texas - we would visit Aransas on one day trips during weekends: Aransas
California - Adolfo’s
New Hampshire - no NH chips, yet
