Apache 4800 setups (2 Viewers)

Truth is, I wish I had never bought the 4800. With it loaded with 1,500 chips, it’s so heavy that it’s just silly.
Two 3800 cases would have been a much better choice.
You saying this somewhere else on PCF is actually why I got 3800s instead of 4800s. I think you were right! I'm definitely strong enough to carry heavier. But it would lose the convenience factor. Two 3800s make for a way more convenient system. And I have to go up stairs with tight halls. That was part of the planning.

And it's not just heavy to carry, I was a bit concerned about the handle. It seems sturdy enough I guess, but it looked like there was a ton of stress on it. Maybe it would be ok and last long-term, but I didn't have lots of confidence in it.

I enjoy the 4800, but I wouldn't put 1500 chips in it; I only put in 1000. This lets me have ample padding to protect the chips.

I can't really imagine it being another 500 chips heavy. I would agree that it doesn't seem safe

Got a 3800 and a 5800 myself. I couldn't really see the use case for the 4800 personally. The 5800 is better for mass storage. The 3800 is better for mobility. The 4800 seemed too bulky to move around but also not big enough to be a mass storage solution (plus no wheels for being mass storage). I guess if you need one case to do both, but then its worse at both.

I do like that the 4800 has two extra latches. And if you're not filling it to maximum capacity because of the weight, it also has plenty of padding to keep the chips secure. I would like to get a 5800 eventually. The wheels are a nice feature.

It's funny, I remember seeing @Ben8257 's ~20 4800 cases and thinking, "......". I am about to fill my 4th and 5th 4800's and plans for 2 more sets.

I couldn't tell you for sure. I think Monte Carlos tend to be a little fat anyways so I imagine it would be perfectly fine.

Don’t those cheaper chips tend to be taller? Unsure if you might actually only be able to fit 19 in one barrel.
I don’t have any cheap chips on me to try, but I will say that the Tina smooth mould chips are very tight, and you can squeeze in 20 just barely

Any ideas when these week go on sale again? I know Harbor Freight does a lot of sales, but haven't seen these 4800 cases included in any of their sales in the last 2-3 months.
