This year's strain has hit me like a ton of bricks. I've been out of commission for about 24 hours now. Man... chills and aches like I haven't felt since grade school.

It started with severe midday chills around 2pm yesterday, and I literally haven't moved since about 7pm last night, except to hit the head and make some soup. Thank god for laptops and tablets.

Is anyone else getting ravaged by this motherf*cker???

There is so much Flu going around this year its incredible, and if not the flu then head colds and chest infections, to pneumonia.

Get better ! drink fluids , watch poker on tv. :)

Nope, Flu Shot. We all got one for my wife and it worked so far. My sister in law in California got a shot this year and came down with the flu and she did not get as sick as most. She works for the LA School district so you know she was exposed to it.

got H1N1 many years ago, laid me out for a while

I was as sick as I have been in 20 years in the week leading up to Christmas. Diarrhea followed by projectile vomiting followed by diarrhea followed by even more projectile vomiting for at least 4 hours.

It was horrible. I was totally indisposed.

It was even worse in the two days after when my ribs/mid-section felt like I'd been beaten by baseball bats just like Nicky Santoro and his brother had been beaten (albeit to death) in the motion picture film "Casino".

Here is the scene:

Not sure if it was NoroVirus, food poisoning, H3N2 or whatever, but it was bad. If someone who was 75-80 years old, they would have probably met their maker!

I know exactly what your going through. I got whatever strain was around 5 years ago. Same symptoms. Didn't want to move. Was literally crawling on my hands and knees to get to the bathroom. I don't ever remember being that sick before. The flu is no joke. Get well soon!

Sorry to hear it, dude. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Flu is huge this year. My wife is an RN and her hospital (250 beds) is completely full with an additional couple of dozen patients on hold in the ER. All the other local hospitals are pretty much the same.

Wash your hands people!
