Hey guys, I'm in the market for a new set of chips and was wondering what breakdown is appropriate. I currently have a set of 300 CPC Rounders (160x1 80x5 60x20 and 6 100s plaques) that I'm selling and I'm wanting a larger set. My normal game is around 8 players at 1/2. with average buy ins being about $100 with multiple rebuys from each person normally. I know my guys as well as myself would like a good number of chips on the table. I was wondering what a good number of chips would be as well as a breakdown. Thanks for the help!

I would say any single table is safe with
$1 x 300
$5 x 500
$25 x 200

That’s a $7,800 bank

If you wanted a smaller 700 chip set shave 100 off each denomination.

You really only need just over $3K for the bank to give three $100 buyins per seat. You said you and your players like big stacks so I suggest:

$1 x 200
$5 x 560
$25 x 40
800 chips, $4000 bank.

Or if you want to go bigger and never worry about adding to your set:
$1 x 200
$5 x 560
$25 x 160
$100 x 80
1000 chips, $15000 bank.

So I could go two ways here. The OP isn't really specific enough to decide. Buy-ins of 100 really isn't a lot for 1-2, and we don't know what "a lot" of chips means.

A more typical buy in for 1-2 is 200 and typically played with fives and a few singles for blinds. So 10/38 for 48 chip stacks to start. But if the buy ins really are only 100, I am almost thinking a limit set type breakdown so each player starts with a rack of singles, however this would be practical unless we are thinking a set of 1000.

So for 1000 chips with big stacks.
600*1
300*5
60*25
40*100

Bank 7600.

For 600 chips in a more typical breakdown
100*1
400*5
60*25
40*100
Bank 7600

Hope this helps.
