I will be hosting my Annual Heads-Up Tourney on Saturday, May 7th!
I will have the Amir Khan/ Canelo Alavarez fight that night! Also, there should be a constantly running cash game, for the lulls within the HU tournament.

Format and Buy-in will depend on number of players;

10 or less players, double elimination
10 or more players, single elimination

8 or less players, $40 buy-in
9-12 players, $30 buy-in
13 or more players, $20 buy-in

As always, in PCFers in the area, are welcome. Please post in this thread, or shoot me a PM to RSVP!

Play for bragging rights, cash, and the trophy!

Killer trophy.

I love knowing there are so many great PCF home games around the country so I know that no matter where I move I'll be able to use some sweeeeeeet chips.

Structure depends on number of players. So far on Sat, I have 16 players, so the format will be single elimination. I'll have one 8 player bracket "hearts", and another 8 player bracket "spades". We'll pick cards, and whatever card you draw is your seed (i.e. 2 of hearts, makes you the 2nd seed in the hearts bracket) We'll play the brackets out, and the winner of each bracket will face off for the championship!
For blinds, each round every player starts with 10K starting stack. Blinds start at 100/200, and go up every 10 minutes. Most matches should end between 30-50 minutes. You want to keep each match an hour or less. All matches are self dealt, with each player having a deck to get in as many hands per blind level. I get 2 matches going on the small table, and 3 matches on the large table, to start with. As players get eliminated, I get a cash game rolling on the big table, and continue to use the small table for the HU tourney.

You can alter the format, depending on the number of players, and how long you would like it to last. I've done 8 player double elimination, and 4 player round robin formats before. I really enjoy the HU format, and look forward to the challenge.
If you have any more questions, feel free to contact me.

One strong vote here for double elimination. It seems to make the evening a lot more enjoyable for everyone, since they stay involved longer.

I prefer double elimination, also. My players have complained over the years that it takes too long. They would rather take there shot, and if it doesn't work out, move on to the cash game. I've listened to want they prefer.
