In my quarterly tournaments, we have bounty chips that count as an all-in. My players like throwing those around when shoving their whole stack.

Looking to gather the collective thoughts from PCF on integrating something similar to my cash games.

I am the only dealer for our monthly cash games. So I am on the fence for everyone getting an all-in chip or going the dealer only route of a button, plaque, or triangle that I could sling in front of the all-ins. Or nixing the whole thing because it's a stupid idea.

Please set me straight, thank you!

In a tournament, tossing in your bounty chip signifies that you are putting your bounty up for grabs, so it makes sense in that case (IMO). It doesn't override the use of an all in button by the dealer.

In a cash game, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense (IMO) to give each player an all in chip.

But MOAR CHIPS is a thing, so why not, I guess...

I wouldn't use a dealer based all-in plaque for the tournament where everyone has their bounty chip.

I'm leaning towards having a couple dealer based ones that I could use in the cash game, and not having every player use one. Does anyone have experience with using the larger/dealer based ones in a cash game?

Now that I think of it, I'm not sure I have ever seen these used in a cash game...

Likely going to nix this idea.

Thanks for letting me brainstorm.

For cash I have the following accessory chips:

1. I issue one of each with each stack at the start of the night
- on the reverse of the NIT chip is 10 numbered seats and 10 Bounty
2. All in and NIT are used every game
3. Rabbit Hunt usually confuses folks and probably wouldn’t do again (an alternative is to just ask people to donate 2x BB to the next pot if they want to rabbit hunt to act as an incentive to not slown the game down). I don’t have many folk who rabbit hunt anyway - but this chip gives everyone 1 ‘free’ rabbit hunt. The chips are one of my favorite and it’s an excuse to get them on the table.

I also received 10 of these larger pink chips I plan to relabel as an All In chip for other sets as well:

You don’t need any of these for a cash game, All In is most useful, followed by NIT for me.

GL!

Those are all fun chips!

I will likely institute the rabbit hunting idea. I have a couple players that want to rabbit hunt just about every hand that doesn't get to a river.

One other chip is a ‘Show ‘em’ chip, that we actually just talked about during my last game. I decided not to have that since being able to conceal your bluffs/ or if you have it is such a large part of the game. Anyway - another option I’ve seen people mock up, but other threads were generally negative against that one (not good for the game)

Yeah I wouldn’t recommend using them for accessory chips, but I have a Tiger secondary set I use these with so they all have a similar theme. I’d probably go 43mm / larger if I were to do it again to differentiate more from the ‘normal’ cash chips.

I also have a much cheaper RHC relabel set I play with and alternate each month.

These triangles are useful for multiple pots and avoid shoving your whole box. Get often stolen, so many people must find them useful too.

If those TPs are your accessory chips, what chips do you play with?
I’m envisioning stacks of Spanish bullion.

Truthfully tiger accessory chips make sense because you need big chips but not many of them. I use some RPC fat hats that sure don’t make up the bulk of my set.

This is well said and really couldn’t add more.

I’ll share I’ve thought about adding them to my home game as I too was permanent dealer for a few games. But then I realized I can’t deal, manage buy ins, order the pizza, change the music, adjust the room temp, (my friends are high maintenance lol) all at the same time. So now it’s self deal like a normal game, and I haven’t bought any all in buttons.

But hey, you could always buy just a couple and use them when someone says all in, and see how the crowd responds.

I had a couple self dealt games, and it just seems to run so much smoother when I deal. I'm too much of a control freak to let sloppy dealing happen at my establishment. The Vice Lounge has a reputation to uphold...

Maybe I'll buy a couple triangles or buttons to try out, hey, "it's only money"...

Why not get the kind that’s double-sided?

I would agree, IF you're playing hold'em

If you're playing PLO or other circus games, it can often be confusing with multi-way All-ins, it can help de-clutter the potS

I had some 43mm all-in buttons made a while back when I created some custom seating/bounty chips... the dealers hated them and they really don't serve any purpose in a home game. So I sold them.

I think in a casino they're more for the cameras than anything else.

Never been a fan of Show Me chips (obvious reasons) and never understood All-in chips (just say “all in”), and really could never wrap my head around a call chip (say “call” or toss on oversized chip out).

We love chips and of course “Moar!” but not for me.

The reason I am leaning towards the dealer driven ones is to avoid having to buy a ton of them.

And the purpose is to ensure the table know what's going on. Sometimes we end up in 3-4 way all-in pots and it can get messy.

I grudgingly accept all in buttons in tournament play in casinos. But those are controlled by the dealer.

But I don't think it's a great idea to do this per player, nor am I a fan of bounty chips being used for this purpose, but that is a pretty standard practice.

For my game we have bounties and use the bounty card to signify all in. It wasn't stated that this should be a rule or anything, but it has organically become the simple way to signify all in.

Seems to work well.

Yes, that's what we do in my quarterly tournament. They work well.

However, I still have not pulled the trigger on adding one of these plaques or buttons to my cash games.
