I was alive and working well before the World Wide Web or cell phones (born in the early 70s - the internet was created in the late 60s).When it no longer serves us we will quit using it. There’s no mandate to keep expanding it.

You can’t quit using something you do not control.
A mandate is not needed. It will continue to be developed regardless of mandates or agreements signed.
The prediction is it will have the ability to develop itself.
Electricity is dumb; it reacts predictably.
That is not an equivalency that makes sense.
AI already does unpredictable things.
