Well. Today I am 65. Never thought I’d get this old. As some of you know I almost didn’t. Here’s a little more about me than I’m sure you want to know.
I am employed as a data architect. What is that? It’s an IT geek that builds and designs databases and other data structures for companies. I have 30 years experience in the IT field.
My first love is music. Until my stroke cut my career short I played tenor sax for over 50 years in many local bands and most notably The United States Air Force Band when I was 18 to 22 years old.
I have also enjoyed a 30 year career as a lead singer in many different venues, bands, church, local theater productions, etc.
Been married twice, now for 28 years to my second wife whom I have two sons ages 26 and 22 with. Both graduated in computer science majors Summa Cum Laude - smarter than their old man
And finally, surprise, even after 14 or 15 years on Chiptalk and PCF I have a raging addiction for these things we all covet. Current number of chips I have is a little better than 5000 with custom Chipco ASM and BCC sets. At one time I have owned thirty different sets and maybe someday I’ll put out a list.
For now I want to Thank You all for keeping things interesting these last years. I still visit every day, probably more than I should. Cheers friends!

Congrats on reaching this milestone! Full retirement within reach?

We could have used your expertise with our newest regional hospital software system. As a database management system, it sucks balls.

Congrats! A milestone for sure, but more importantly, a point in what looks like a beautiful life (and much more to come) with a great legacy. Continue to enjoy:)

A very happy birthday to you! In total agreement that a well paying desk job doesn't necessarily suck, especially if you enjoy what you are doing and where you are doing it.

Here's to many more!

Great OP. while we have never met or had much interaction I have always respected you over the years at both sites. Lifetimes achievement award nomination!!!

Your honesty and willingness to tell this forum all about yourself, rather than a small portion is incredible.
I don't know how many of us here have that kind of fortitude.
All the best moving forward. And thank you.

Congrats Sir...always a pleasure reading your postings.
Wising you and the family a fantastic day.

Happy birthday Jim!
As a band director, I really appreciate musicians in the service. I've always heard there's a correlation between musicians and IT professionals. Thank you for your service.
I hope you are well and that your health continues to improve.
I appreciate your posts and I appreciate your generosity with the chip you sent me. It's in an airtime and I use it as my card capper everytime I play.
Thanks and happy birthday!

Happy Birthday, Jim, and welcome to the medicare club. Wishing you many more happy returns, too.

When I was much younger, I never thought I'd see age 30 (dreamed of my demise in an auto accident literally hundreds of times or more). And once past 40, I was sure for the longest time that I'd never see 70 (runs in the family). I guess we'll see....

Happy birthday! That's quite a history of music! Trying to get my kids to try out music as well, I think they could really enjoy it.

Every parent wants their kids to be smarter and more successful than they were, awesome job on that!

Glad to still have you with us in the chipping community. Would love to see the list of sets you've owned once you have it :)
