So, I've ran a home game for about 2 years now, just buddies nothing too intense. I have wanted to upgrade my chips to some sort of Paulson brand and finally found a set I can get for relatively cheap. I'm just posting this here for any feedback on chip counts, see if I'm getting too little or too many of one chip. This is also budget friendly so I'm not looking to spend $1000+. The game doesn't get too massive, were young college guys so I wouldn't say more than $2000 on the table in one night. I just want to hear opinions from other people who may have been in similar spots to me.

100x $1 (Unsure if I need 200)
200x $5 (unsure if I need 300)
80x $25
20x $100

You could add 50 to both the 1s and 5s but if you had to pick one I’d overindex on the 5s. Even at 1/1 those will be your work horses and will future proof your set if you ever want to bump your game up to 1/2.

No need for additional ones. 10 per player is more than enough.
I prefer three racks of fives over two racks, but either will work for a $1/$1 game.
80/20 is good imo.

I have these available if you're interested in premium THC Paulson chips.
We can adjust amount of chips if need be.
Let me know!
Thanks

Based off what you shared you’ll likely not need or use $100s. Would use those for more 5’s or even $25s.

I say go for the larger amounts, 200x $1 and 300x $5. If you say you have at least $2000 on the table at the end of the night then you will need all these and also already dip into your $25s. Also helps future-proof a bit if you decide to slightly increase your stakes/buy-ins.

My set is almost complete, I've got x140 $1 and x300 $5 along with some $25s and $100s that will barely see use. I've found that a barrel of $1s per player usually works out well and is the easiest to grab. Only for starting buy ins though, there will be plenty on the table for rebuys and new players. So yeah, go for a bigger amount of $1s and even $5s depending how deep you get.
